The UEFA Champions League is back here for a battle for top spot in Group F on Wednesday night at Camp Nou in Barcelona. Neither f these team’s are safe yet as Inter Milan is right on their heels and the Italian side will further turn up the pressure should they beat Prague this Wednesday and so motivation should be high for both for these clubs.
The last time these two played Dortmund dominated Barcelona at the Signal Iduna Park, but could not get one past the Barcelona goalkeeper and thus that game ended with a final score of 0-0.
This group would have looked a lot different if Marco Reus was able to bury a penalty he was awarded in that matchday one game against this Barcelona team, but unfortunately for Borussia they let their chance slip and now find themselves in a precarious position in 2nd place.
Dortmund
Lucien Favre now finds himself on the hot seat after a humiliating tie at home against newly promoted SC Paderborn. Paderborn stunned the home crowd as they took a 3-0 lead in the first half, as boos began reigning down on the home players from their own fans. They did manage to salvage something form that game as Marco Reus tied things up in the 93rd minute t at least get this team a point.
They fans were not really wrong to boo either as team management shelled out well over 100 million euros for new players and for this club to only find themselves in 6th in the Bundesliga standings is flat-out unacceptable. The fans also had a 4-0 loss to their bitter rivals FC Bayern Munich fresh in their minds, so as crazy as it sounds, this team might actually benefit from being on the road for a bit.

Farve is almost guaranteed to go back to a 4-2-3-1 formation with Marco Reus pulling the strings in midfield for this club. Reus only has 6 goals in 12 games this year, but it seems like this Dortmund team plays way worse when he is not in the lineup so he really is the key man for the men in yellow this Wednesday.
Barcelona
Barcelona has had their own struggles this season as they learn to cope with their ageing back line and ageing superstars. They do, however, hold a 9-1-3 record and find themselves tied with Real Madrid for first place in La Liga, so everything is still to play for this year.
When you look at this team on paper, it is hard to imagine them ever needing to come from behind on anyone as their front four is the best in the world with Griezmann, Suarez, Dembele and Lionel Messi leading the charge up front. Come from behind is just what they had to do last week, though, as Leganes shocked the Catalan giants by going up 1-0 in the 12th minute last week.
Barcelona did have enough to make the comeback in that match as goals by Suarez and Vidal led the team to a 2-1 road victory. This team will need to come to play, though, as Dortmund are a far better team then most of their competition in La Liga including Leganes.
The key guy for this Barcelona team is Lionel Messi as he has still not lost a step even though he is now well into his thirties. He did not get to play such a big part in the reverse fixture as he was injured for that game and was only able to come in as a sub.
He should be able to give this extremely weak Dortmund defense fits as even solid defenses do not have any chance of stopping the Argentinian international.
Free Dortmund vs Barcelona Champions League Prediction:
The last time these two played the match ended 0-0, but I can’t see a repeat of anything close to that result as everything about this game screams goals to me. Dortmund are absolutely terrible on defense at the moment and should get ripped apart by this super talented front 4 from Barcelona.
On the flip side I firmly believe Dortmund will get themselves on the scoresheet as Barcelona has had struggles of their own on defense and the visitors from Germany have plenty of offensive firepower of their own.
Although the over/under is at 3.5 we are getting plus money here and that line seems perfectly reasonable as I thin this one turns into a shootout more often than not.
