It’s an all-Canada matchup as the Jets of Winnipeg head to Vancouver to take on the Canucks.
The Jets are looking for their third straight win, after getting victories over the Panthers and Avalanche in the last few days.
Meanwhile, the Canucks are coming off an overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets and are looking to bounce back with a win at home.
Winnipeg Jets
The Jets have bounced back with two wins after losing four straight. It’s been a rough stretch in December for the Jets, and a horrible season for them on the road. Winnipeg is just 5-10-2 on the road, including a terrible 6-2 loss to Calgary and a 5-2 loss to Philadelphia.

The team ranks 27th in the league in goals against (100) and has a minus-10 goal differential on the year.
With 90 goals for on the year, the Jets rank 12th in that category. Much of the goal-scoring slack has been picked up by standout rookie Patrik Laine, who has 18 goals and 11 assists on the year. Laine is coming off a three-point game (1G, 2A) against Colorado the other night, and has nine multi-point games on the year.
Helping out on the scoring front is center Mark Scheifele. He has 14 goals and 16 assists on the year, including four points in his last five games. Scheifele and Laine are by far the best goal scorers on the team and account for more than a third of the Jets’ goals.
Vancouver Canucks
Vancouver’s disappointing season continues, as the team currently sits in 6th place in the Pacific Division.
The Canucks are tied for 27th in the NHL – with the Jets – in goals against (100) and have a minus-20 goal differential on the year.
The scoring has not been there for the Canucks. The Sedin brothers are playing decent hockey on the top line, but they can’t do it alone. Brandon Sutter has had an okay year with nine goals and nine assists, and has four points in his last five games.
Center Bo Horvat has four points in his last three games and is starting to find his stride. He has nine goals and 11 assists on the season.

Unfortunately, there’s no consistency for the Canucks and even when they can score, they can’t seem to defend.
Against a top-12 offense like the Jets, the Canucks will have to find a way to defend against Patrik Laine and Mark Scheifele if they want to have any chance of winning on Tuesday night.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Winnipeg is 5-10-2 on the road this season
- The OVER is 4-1 in Vancouver’s last five games
Free Winnipeg Jets vs. Vancouver Canucks NHL Hockey Prediction:
If Scheifele and Laine can get to the net, Winnipeg should win this game easily. On the road, despite a poor record, I think Winnipeg gets the W against a bad Vancouver defense.
