Once again Alex Ovechkin keeps scoring for this impressive Capitals offensive unit in what was a tough fought overtime loss in Edmonton last time out. He now has 9 goals in 12 games and will be licking his chops to get back out their on the ice in a game with a total of 6.5.

The Canucks have been a really solid team this year and have shown their ability in their last two games with consecutive wins over the Red Wings and the Rangers. Washington Capitals

Whenever we see Ovechkin on the scoresheet this year it always seems their is an assist in the column for John Carlson as he has also got off to a flyer this year with 5 goals and 16 assists in only 12 games.

One concern that keeps coming up for this Capitals team is that they are always in shootouts and it seems like Holtby is really struggling to keep the puck out of the net. Ilya Samsanov is projected to get the start here and he has been the better of the two goaltenders so far with a 3-1-0 record a 1.83 GAA and a .933% save percentage.

Vancouver Canucks

Bo Horvat was a monster in that last game scoring a hat trick and leading his side to a solid 5-2 road win against the Detroit Red Wings. The Canucks will hope that performance will kick start his season as he only had 2 goals on the season before that and he if he can kick on from here the Canucks can be that much more dangerous on offense.

Jacob Markstrom is projected to get the start here and he has been awesome for this team this year with a .933 save percentage and a 2.15 GAA. He certainly will be tested against one of the most potent offenses in the NHL.
