The Boston Bruins look their usual selves coming in here with a 17-9-5 record and are clearly in contention this year, but it does seem like there is something missing that previous Bruins teams had, so it remains to be seen whether the return of Pastrnak will propel this team into being one of the Stanley Cup favorites.
New Jersey Devils
The Devils can thank their goalie Mackenzie Blackwood who was an absolute wall against Boston in that last game stopping all 40 shots the Bruins sent his way with many of those stops making the highlight reels that night.
The Devils desperately need performances like that on a nightly basis as well, with this team not being able to outscore their opponents on a consistent basis, as they only average 2.39 goals per game and they will likely struggle to score again against this tough Bruins back-line.
The Devils do have to be happy with the way Jack Hughes has come along, though, as the young center has 7 goals and 9 assists so far which is not spectacular, but given his stats last year as well as his age those numbers start to look better and better.
Boston Bruins
It has been a bit up and down lately for the Bruins and a lot of people will count them out in terms of being real contenders, but plenty of the Bruins losses have been instances where they dominate and are just unable to score, or where the team simply does not show up to play.
When they are on top of their game, though, they can play with just about anyone in the league and with a strong blue-line and a goalie who can get hot, I can imagine plenty of other teams not wanting to meetup with these guys in the first round of the playoffs.
Also look out for David Krejci in this contest who has 1 goal and 17 assists thus far and no, he is not Boston’s biggest star, but I feel like he could play a big role here, as I like the Bruins matchup the lower the lines go.

Free New Jersey Devils vs. Boston Bruins NHL Prediction:
This seems like a good chance for the Bruins to bounce back, as I cannot see Blackwood doing what he did last night again and he may not even start here as we are currently without starting goalies. Either way I like the -185 on the moneyline and think they can get the job done on the puckline as well, so that is an option if you do not want to lay that much juice.
