The Los Angeles Kings, coming off a win over Anaheim on Saturday and a big trade on Sunday, head to Minnesota to take on the Wild.
Minnesota, who themselves made a big trade on Sunday, will look to continue its strong performance this season and keep its Central Division lead over the Chicago Blackhawks.
Los Angeles Kings
After finally getting goaltender Jonathan Quick back from an injury that has kept him out the entire year, the Kings decided to deal Peter Budaj to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for another veteran goaltender in Ben Bishop.
With Quick healthy, he should see the start on Monday night against Minnesota. He has already started to look like himself again, recording 32 saves and allowing just a single goal in his return against the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night.

With him in goal, the Kings stellar defense and low goals against average should continue. Los Angeles has given up the 5th least goals this season (151) and gives up just about 2.48 per game.
The defense has rarely been the problem, but the offense has struggled to score.
The Kings are 23rd in the league in goals scored, averaging just 2.46 per game.
The problem has been that really only the top line can score. Jeff Carter leads the team with 30 goals and 25 assists, including a goal and two assists in his last five.
Minnesota Wild
On Sunday afternoon, the Minnesota Wild solidified its stance on being all-in this season and playing for a Stanley Cup. The Wild traded for Martin Hanzal from the Arizona Coyotes.
Hanzal was having a tough year playing on a terrible Coyotes team but still managed 16 goals and 10 assists and should provide an immediate spark on offense for the Wild.
With Hanzal on board, the Wild have strengthened an already great offense that ranks 4th in the NHL in goals. Minnesota averages 3.36 goals per game and has guys on every line that can put the puck in the net. The team has five skaters with more than 15 goals.

Mikael Granlund and Nino Niederreiter lead the team with 19 goals a piece. Granlund has four goals in his last five games along with two assists. Niederreiter has a goal and three assists in his last five.
Captain Mikko Koivu has been playing some solid hockey this year. He has 17 goals and 29 assists on the year, including a goal and seven assists in his last five games.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Los Angeles is 3-6 SU in the last nine games
- The Total has gone OVER in nine of Minnesota’s last 12 games
Free Los Angeles Kings vs. Minnesota Wild NHL Hockey Prediction:
The Wild are 4-2-1 in the last seven games. The team has only given up more than three goals twice in that span. The Kings have a Jonathan Quick in goal who is still trying to find his legs after missing basically all of the year. Minnesota should get the W in this one at home.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Minnesota ATS
When Minnesota gets going on offense, the team is hard to stop. With Devan Dubnyk in goal and the defense at full strength, the Wild should hold off any offense from the Kings. Minnesota should cover the spread in this one.
