The Buffalo Sabres will be in Chicago on Thursday to take the ice against the Blackhawks at the United Center. The Sabres will be looking for a second win in a row after beating up on the Rangers in New York 4-1 on Tuesday.
Chicago will be looking to get things back on track after falling 1-4 in St. Louis against the Blues in the Winter Classic on January 2nd.
Buffalo Sabres
The Buffalo Sabres were able to bring an end to a two game losing streak on Tuesday night with a huge 4-1 win against the Rangers in New York.
Zemgus Girgensons has able to get things started with his fourth goal of the season at the 12:17 mark in the first period.
Evander Kane was able to make it 2-0 when he found the net at 19:21 in the same period.
Justin Bailey lit up the lantern for the first time this season at 1:03 in the second and Jack Eichel topped the scoring off with a power play goal at 1:10 in the third.

Despite the four goals in New York, the Sabres have struggled on offense this season and have only been able to score an average of 2.2 goals per game, putting them at 28th in the league.
They have been solid on the power play with a 7th best 21.5 conversion percentage. Buffalo has been above the league average on defense, giving up 2.6 goals per night.
The penalty kill just hasn’t been their cup of tea, giving up a goal 25.9 percent of the time they have been forced to skate a man down.
Chicago Blackhawks
The struggles have been adding up for Chicago, dropping four of their previous 5 after a 4-1 loss against the St. Louis Blues in the Winter Classic.
The lone goal of the game came off the stick of Michal Kempny at the 1:02 mark in the first. After finding the net right out of the gate, the Hawks were unable to do much more then watch the rest of the game.
Chicago’s lead over the Central Division is now just sitting one point over the Minnesota Wild.

The Hawks are currently finding the net for an average of 2.7 goals per game, putting them at 15th in the league in scoring. They are at the same position on the power play, connecting on 18.5 of their opportunities.
Chicago has been strong when it comes to defending the net, giving up an average of just 2.4 goals per game.
The struggle has been real for the Blackhawks on the penalty kill, allowing their opponents to score 24.1 percent of the time the Hawks are skating with a player in the box.

Free Buffalo Sabres vs. Chicago Blackhawks NHL Hockey Prediction:
The Blackhawks have been in a slump and after building a huge lead in the division earlier in the season, they are now dangerously close to losing the position.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Chicago -1.5
I think playing at home against the Sabres will give Chicago an opportunity to find some some rhythm on offense and give them some momentum to build off of.
