This is the first stop on a road trip for a team that has won only one road game this season.
Phoenix was off to a great start but they have slowed of late, losing three of four. They seem improved but this is still a team with a lot to prove.
This is hardly must-see television but it could be entertaining as both teams like to get up and down the floor.
New Orleans Pelicans
The Pelicans won back to back games at home but it is harder to have that kind of success on the road, especially when you are shorthanded.
Zion Williamson has yet to play this season and they are likely without the services of Josh Hart, Jahlil Okafor, Derrick Favors and Lonzo Ball. Those are all rotation players.

Without them there is a lot of pressure on Brandon Ingram and Jrue Holiday. Holiday is an established veteran who was off to a slow start but has been playing much better lately but Ingram is still young. I am not sold he can lead a team in scoring for a season.
With no Favors and no Okafor this team gets pretty small. Jaxson Hayes was a first round pick but his game is pretty raw other than strong athleticism.
Another rookie is Nickeil Alexander-Walker. He also has a great NBA build but has struggled to find his game as a rookie. This was always going to be a young team but they have been forced to go especially young with the injuries.
New Orleans does not play much defense, they are 29th in the NBA. That makes for exciting but frustrating action, especially late in games.
They might be getting the Suns in a good spot but on the road this is a tough team to back.
Phoenix Suns
Phoenix is also shorthanded for this one. DeAndre Ayton is only about half way through his suspension.

More importantly Phoenix has a couple of key injuries. Aron Baynes has been spectacular in filling in for Ayton; and Ricky Rubio has been masterful directing the offense from the point guard position. Both are questionable.
Frank Kaminsky is the third center and he scored 17 points in a starting role last game. He has his moments but they are few and far between which is why Charlotte moved on from him. This is a good matchup for him though.
Devin Booker is healthy and having a great season but there is going to be a lot on him with his teammates out. It becomes way too easy to throw double teams his way. Phoenix haad been playing with so much promise so hopefully they get healthy quickly.

Phoenix looks like it is back to being a fade team for the next little while until they can get fully healthy again. They were sort of getting used to no Ayton but these other injuries are tough.
I am not high on the Pels with with their depth issues too, but at least they are feeling good off a couple of home wins.
