The Mid American Conference gets set for a battle of Michigans, when Western Michigan travels to the other side of the state to take on Eastern Michigan.
Western Michigan currently sits in 1st in the MAC West as they bring in a 3-0 conference record after their 35-13 win over Miami OH.
Eastern Michigan is pretty much just the opposite. They come in 0-4 in MAC play this year as they were knocked around by Northern Illinois last week.
The Broncos struggled with their non conference portion of the schedule, but have picked the right time to turn it on. With wins over Central Michigan, Ohio and now their latest victim, the Miami Redhawks, the Broncos are poised for another run at a MAC Championship.
They made things look easy in their 35-13 win last week as they held a 421-276 edge in total yardage.
QB Zach Terrell paced the Broncos with 278 yards passing to go along with 3 touchdowns on 25 of 32 passing. Terrell has thrown for 1793 yards on the season with 20 touchdowns.
Things for Western Michigan against their rivals Eastern have no gone well over the past years. Western Michigan is just 1-3 over the last 4 head-to-head meetings with their win coming just last season.
The Broncos took it to the Eagles 51-7 last season as they went into that game in a similar spot as big favorites.
The key for Western Michigan has staying on the field on third downs offensively and holding the opponents rush games down. Western Michigan turned in 25 first downs last week in their route of Miami. They also held Miami to just 58 yards rushing.
The Eagles defense has been the main reason for their 1-7 showing and 0-4 showing in conference play this season. Last week was just another poor defensive struggle as they allowed Northern Illinois to rack up 59 points in a 59-21 loss.
Eastern Michigan is allowing 44.5 points on the season and a 521.8 yards against per game. Over their last 5 games the Eagles have surrendered 261 points.
Offensively, the Eagles aren’t terrible either. They’ve scored 20 points or more in that 5 game span, but with the points against, they’ve clearly lost all 5.
QB Brogan Roback finished last week with 219 yards on 28 of 43 passing. It’s extremely evident the Eagles are missing the big play factor.
With EMUs horrible defensive play and decent offensive production, they have seen the total go over in 6 of their last 7 conference games.

Free Week 9 NCAA Football Prediction
With two MAC teams heading in complete opposite directions, WMU should expect to move the ball with ease here on Thursday. EMU just doesn’t have enough fire power to keep up with the Broncos pass offense.

The Broncos come out throwing deep as they route EMU to move to 4-0 in conference play.
