Hilltoppers vs. Aggies Gameday
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers head to Las Cruces on Thursday night to face the New Mexico State Aggies, with both teams sitting at 1-3 overall and opening Conference USA play.
Kickoff from Aggie Memorial Stadium is 8:00 PM ET on CBS Sports Network. WKU finally got some relief after a brutal three-game road swing through Nevada, Georgia and Indiana. The Hilltoppers hammered Mercyhurst 52-7 in their home opener, snapping an 0-3 start.
WKU finally found its offense last week, but proving it on the road is a different assignment.
New Mexico State is also 1-3 after a 42-18 rivalry loss to New Mexico. The Aggies are 1-1 at home, with their lone victory coming against Mercyhurst.
WKU has won the last two meetings in this series, including a 35-16 victory in Bowling Green last November.
Now both programs get a clean slate in CUSA play.

For Western Kentucky, Tisdale started the Mercyhurst win and delivered the cleanest offensive performance WKU has had all season. He spread four TD passes among four receivers.

New Mexico State can move the ball through the air, but turnovers and uneven execution have repeatedly stalled possessions. WKU should avoid turning this into a track meet after what happened during its opening road swing.
I expect both teams to lean on field position. At 57.5, there is enough room for a competitive game, so Under 57.5 is my play.
