Huskies vs. Bruins Gameday
Washington heads into the Rose Bowl looking to tighten up their Big Ten résumé after a 7-3 start, while UCLA tries to stop a season that’s been sliding downhill for weeks.
This matchup feels like momentum vs. survival — one team pushing upward, the other trying to stop the leak before the whole ship sinks.
Washington’s 49-13 demolition of Purdue showed exactly what their ceiling looks like when the offense clicks and the defense brings heat. They enter at 4-3 in Big Ten play and appear to be trending in the right direction at the perfect time.
UCLA sits at 3-7, including a 3-4 conference mark, and comes in on a rough three-game losing streak. Their latest outing was a 48-10 beating at Ohio State that exposed issues on both sides of the ball.
Washington won the 2024 meeting 31-19 at Husky Stadium, while UCLA took the 2022 matchup at the Rose Bowl 40-32.
With both teams heading in opposite directions, this Week 13 pairing gets an extra jolt from the historic venue.

Washington Huskies vs. UCLA Bruins Odds & Last 5
Washington enters as a strong road favorite with a -416 moneyline and a -10.5 spread.
Oddsmakers expect them to control most phases of the matchup.
UCLA sits at +319 after their recent blowout loss to Ohio State, and home-field advantage alone won’t move the market much given their current trajectory.
Recent head-to-head results favor Washington slightly, and their recent form — including last week’s explosion against Purdue — reinforces that edge.
Bruins Stats
UCLA’s offense has struggled, putting up just 194 points (93rd). Their passing game sits at 1,813 yards (104th) while the rushing attack has produced 1,533 yards (75th), one of the few bright spots.
Defensively, the Bruins have surrendered 324 points (129th), which ranks near the bottom nationally. Still, they’ve shown real play-disruption with 3 interceptions (4th nationally) and 5 fumble recoveries (8th). Creating chaos hasn’t been the issue — stopping sustained drives has.
Recent results include a 48-10 loss to Ohio State where the offense mustered only 68 rushing yards and 154 passing yards. Earlier-season wins over Maryland and Michigan State showed potential, but that version of UCLA hasn’t resurfaced lately.
QB Nico Iamaleava leads with 1,659 yards and 12 touchdowns, though his concussion status adds uncertainty.
RB Jalen Berger has added 281 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

Huskies Stats
Washington has quietly built one of the steadier Big Ten offenses, posting 343 points (24th) with 2,607 passing yards (40th) and 1,704 rushing yards (54th). They can stretch the field or lean on the run when needed.
Defensively, they’ve allowed 193 points (66th) and bring consistent pressure with 19 sacks (17th). Their 9 interceptions rank 10th, making them dangerous when opponents are forced into catch-up mode.
The Huskies come off a dominant win over Purdue but took a 13-10 loss against Wisconsin in a defensive slugfest. When they start fast, they’re tough to derail.
QB Demond Williams Jr. has 2,508 passing yards with 17 touchdowns, while RB Jonah Coleman has 645 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. WR Denzel Boston’s status is worth watching after his recent knee injury.

Huskies vs. Bruins QB Matchup
Nico Iamaleava leads UCLA with 1,659 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, and seven interceptions across nine games. His playmaking flashes have been overshadowed by turnover issues and an inconsistent supporting cast.
Luke Duncan has appeared once, tallying 154 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions. His limited action leaves more questions than answers.
Demond Williams Jr. anchors the Washington offense with 2,508 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and five interceptions across ten games. His mobility and accuracy have opened up every level of the field.
Kai Horton adds depth with appearances in two games, totaling 87 passing yards. He hasn’t registered a touchdown or interception yet but provides a steady insurance option behind Williams.
Washington Huskies vs. UCLA Bruins bottom line: Washington’s balance and pressure defense give them the edge — UCLA needs big plays early to avoid falling behind again.

Huskies Bruins Free Pick: Washington -10.5
Here is my Huskies Bruins free pick. Washington has been one of the most reliable favorites in college football, winning 28 of their last 30 straight up and going 8-3 against the spread in their last eleven in that role.
When the Huskies are expected to win, they usually do — and often by margin. Their offense, ranked 24th in points scored, gives them enough firepower to separate as the game wears on.
UCLA, meanwhile, has struggled mightily this season with a 3-7 record and one of the worst defenses in the country. Allowing 324 points — ranking 129th nationally — the Bruins consistently give opponents easy scoring opportunities.
That’s a dangerous matchup flaw against a Washington team that excels at finishing drives and exploiting defensive breakdowns.
My system tells me Washington’s favorite profile and UCLA’s defensive collapse make -10.5 a strong position.
Even though UCLA has been involved in higher-scoring games recently, their defense hasn’t shown the ability to hold up against quality offenses. Washington’s consistency on both sides of the ball should control the tempo and give them multiple chances to extend the lead.
Washington -10.5 all damn day.
