Both the Syracuse Orange and Wake Forest Demon Deacons enter Week 2 1-0, both coming off wins against FCS opponents.
The Demon Deacons trounced Elon in a 41-3 decision behind the phenomenal play of John Wofford.
Syracuse took out Rhode Island in shutout fashion 41-0, but their win came with a price as they lost their starting QB for the rest of the season.
Kickoff is set for inside the dome at 12:30 PM EST.
The Demon Deacons did just as expected Week 1 as they handled FCS Elon with ease en route to a 41-3 win.
The success of Wake Forest came from QB John Wofford, who picked apart Elon. Wofford threw for three touchdown passes and ran for another as they threw for 323 yards in the win.
Wofford exited the game midway through the 3rd quarter and still finished with those stats as it comes as very welcoming sight considering how bad Wake Forest’s offense was in 2014.
Last year, Wake Forest averaged just 216 yards and struggled to keep their offense on the field on third downs. In turn, their defense was always tired as Wake Forest was just simply dominated in time of possession.
Returning 3 starters to their defense, it looked very good in Week 1 as they held Elon to only 151 total yards of offense and allowed them to convert just 1 of their 11 third downs.
The Orange lopsided Week 1 win came at a giant price as they lost QB Terrel Hunt, a 5th year Senior. Hunt tore his achilles in the win, which will more than likely end his tenure at Syracuse.
With that, Freshman Eric Dungey will get his first start of his career this week against Wake Forest.
Dungey got some solid reps in at least during Week 1 as he threw for two touchdown passes. Both of those passes went to WR Ervin Phillips. Phillips will likely be Dungey’s main #1 target going forward.
As for the Orange running game, it was nearly flawless against Rhode Island. A trio of Freshmen, Jordan Fredericks, Dontae Strickland and Jacob Hill combined for 220 yards.
The defense also played a big role as they forced three early turnovers against Rhode Island and will look to cause just as much havoc this week against Wake Forest.

Free Week 2 NCAA Football Prediction
It was important the Freshman got some work in for Syracuse last week as throwing him into the season this early will feature a lot of growing pains. However, Wake Forest still has a struggle of an offense and won’t be as dangerous against a D I defense such as the Orange.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Syracuse ATS
Syracuse’s defense has a big day as they take a little pressure off the young Orange offense en route to a 2-0 start.
