The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will be taking on the Texas A&M Aggies in the Gator Bowl on December 31st. The kickoff is set for 11:00 ET from TIAA Bank Field.
In the last game they played, both of these teams picked up losses. They will look to end their season on a positive note.
The Demon Deacons started off as a 3.5 point favorite and that number is now at 7. The total has gone from 58.5 to 59.5.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
All in all, Wake Forest had a very good season. With that said, they did not finish the year the way they wanted to. They get one more chance to get a win when they face the Aggies.
The Demon Deacons got smoked by the Pitt Panthers by a score of 45-21 in the ACC Title game. It was close for a bit, but they just did not execute well enough to get a win.
In the loss to Pitt, Sam Hartman did not play well. He finished the day 21/46 for 213 yards with 2 touchdowns and 4 picks. He will look to be much better in the Gator Bowl.
The running game did not get established at all in the loss to the Panthers, which made them very one-dimensional. I am not surprised that they lost the game, but I did expect them to score more than 21 points.
Quite frankly, the defense played very badly the whole year. Simply put, it just was not good enough. I have very little confidence in them being able to slow down a good Aggies team.
Texas A&M Aggies
I was impressed with the way that Texas A&M played this year. They were never one of the better teams in the country, but they were always a hard out no matter who they played. To me, this is a team that has a very bright future.
The Aggies last played on November 27th, where they lost to the LSU Tigers by a score of 27-24. This was a game they really should have been able to win, but you have got to give credit to a relentless LSU group.
In the loss to the Tigers, Zach Calzada was 20/35 for 242 yards with 3 touchdown passes. He did not play great this year, but he did play better than I really thought he would.
The LSU defense did a great job against the running game for these guys. Isaiah Spiller only had 11 carries for 27 yards. The leading receiver was Devon Achane, who had 5 receptions for 72 yards.
The defense was very inconsistent this year. There were some games where they held teams in check, but there were others where they get totally shredded. They will be in for a big challenge when they face a dynamic offense in Wake Forest.

Besides the ACC Title Game, I did not get to see many Wake Forest Games. With that said, I am excited to see them play against a very good opponent in the SEC.
In this spot, I am going with Wake Forest at +7 here.
4* 2021 Gator Bowl NCAA Betting Pick:
I look for there to be plenty of scoring in this one. You have two very good offenses and two defenses that are questionable at best.
I am not sold on the Demon Deacons winning the game, but I do feel they can keep it closer than some might think. If they are going to win the Gator Bowl, they will have to be able to stop a good offense in the Aggies.
I know it may seem hard to have confidence backing the Demon Deacons after they played poorly against Pitt, but I do feel they will play better in this game. In this spot, 7 is too much for me to lay with the Aggies. I feel A&M will win, but Wake will keep it within that number.
Give me the Demon Deacons getting 7 points here.
