The Aggies enter the 2020 college football season as the tenth-ranked team in the AP poll after a sub-par 2019. I can’t say the same for the Commodores though as they were in the basement of the conference and finished with only one win in SEC play.
Vanderbilt Commodores
Vanderbilt is coming off a 3-9 season in Derek Mason’s sixth season as head coach. Mason has yet to accumulate a winning record at the helm of the Commodores in the six seasons he has been there. Hopefully, lucky number seven swings in his direction and he gets a positive record.
Elite Texas QB prospect Ken Seals will take over as the starter in Nashville as the starting QB for the Commodores. Seals announced he was committed to Vanderbilt a little under a year ago and is already making noise amongst the staff with his abilities.
Sophomore Keyon Brooks will be the featured back to start the season for Derek Mason’s offense as they lost 2019 leading rusher Ke’Shawn Vaughn to graduation. Brooks racked up just 200 yards on the ground last season as Vaughn had a majority of the carries out of the backfield.

The positive thing for the Commodores coming into the 2020 season is that they are returning their top five tacklers on defense. Junior linebacker Dimitri Moore led the team in tackles last season with 99 total tackles and 48 of them were solo.
Texas A&M Aggies
Jimbo Fisher will try to reach his first 10-win season after falling just short the last two years by a total of three wins. The Aggie fans received some good news over the offseason in which Kellen Mond would be returning for his senior season at College Station.
Kellen Mond went 8-5 in 13 games at the helm of Fisher’s offense in 2019 and is looking to reach his first SEC Championship in his college career. Mond completed 258 of 419 passes for 2897 yards for 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions last season. He is also pretty quick on his feet as he added 500 yards and eight scores on the ground last year.
The Aggies also got some bad news in the offseason as the team’s second-leading tackler and captain of the defense Anthony Hines III wouldn’t be returning to school due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hines is projected to a be late first-round or early second-round pick so that shows the impact he could bring to the team.

Free Week 4 NCAA Football Prediction:
I think Vanderbilt can cover the +30.5 as it’s way too many points. The Commodore defense should be good enough to keep the Texas A&M offense under 40 points and keep it within four touchdowns.
