Texas Tech seems like a really solid team who has had a real tough schedule and that tough schedule continues this Saturday as they travel to Stillwater Oklahoma for a matchup with the Cowboys.
The Oklahoma State Cowboys were having a solid season until last weeks debacle against in-state rivals the Oklahoma Sooners who beat them handily by 28 points. This does, however, present a solid opportunity for them to bounce-back off of that loss as the Red Raiders do not have a stellar defense and they may be able to get rolling again here as 11 point favorites.
Texas Tech Red Raiders
I still like this Red Raiders team despite a bit of a lackluster win last weekend over the Baylor Bears and think they can have some success, especially on offense against this Oklahoma State Cowboys team. QB Alan Bowman was not great in that last game, but I have seen enough good from him that I am willing to back him to have a solid performance here even though he also has average stats on the year with only 1101 yards passing to go along with a 7 TD’s and 5 INT’s.
The one worry I do have about the Red Raiders is their defense, as they have played well at times, but have also got absolutely crushed in other games, as they have allowed over 60 points in 2 games this season and the Cowboys have a good enough offense to drop plenty on them here.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
It is hard to exactly put my finger on what went wrong for the Cowboys in their last game, as nothing really sticks out, as it appears they were overwhelmed or simply tired. Although this Cowboys team does have some solid skill position players, this offense still runs through Chuba Hubbard who has over 600 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns.
They have needed to get away from him, though, in recent times and especially in their last game as they were down by so many they were forced to throw.
If the Cowboys want to be successful here they have to focus on running the ball and dominating at the line of scrimmage, as this will allow them to keep the Red Raiders offanse of the field and tires out the red Raiders defense at the same time.
