This could be a very good game between teams from the SEC and ACC. That is what we are hoping for.
The problem with bowl games now is that you just never know who is really up for them, especially this season.
Another factor is just how good Texas A&M is. I know they just missed the playoffs but are they really elite?
Texas A&M Aggies
The Aggies can make a case for themselves to be in the playoffs. However, they also have to know they had a shot. If they had beaten Alabama they would be in, simple as that.
A&M did beat Florida but other than that nothing else really stands out. The SEC West was down this season with LSU and Auburn well below expectations.
The best way to describe the Aggies this season is complete. They have no specific weaknesses but they are not elite either. There is nothing to fear about this team.
QB Kellen Mond has had his best season. He runs less but has been much more accurate and made fewer mistakes. Classic senior stuff.
North Carolina Tar Heels
I love this Tar Heels time and the way they can dominate you with their running game. The problem is that both of their running backs have opted out for this one.
Sam Howell should be able to put together a decent passing attack but he is also going to be without his top target due to yet another opt out.
That is why the number is so big in this one. North Carolina is definitely a team that leads with their offense. It is hard to know how it performs without all of that skill talent.
The North Carolina defense played a strong game against Miami to close out the season. That unit is also missing their best player LB Chazz Surratt, yet another opt out.
It would have been nice to see these teams face each other at something close to full strength.

With all those opt-outs this game might be the poster child for why the playoff field needs to expand. I would have loved to back the Tar Heels with their full compliment.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Aggies -7.5
Without all of the players, I just can’t get behind the Tar Heels. Mack Brown is a good coach but not exactly a scheme guy. He is not going to roll out new wrinkles for this one. They are just going to do what they do and hope for the best.
