The Volunteers hit the road for the first time this season and travel to Gainesville – a place the Vols have lost five straight. In fact, Tennessee has lost 12 of 14 at Florida and ten straight overall.
Needless to say, the Gators have had their number. But, this is a different Vols team.
A loss to Oklahoma knocked them out of the Top 25 but they have the talent to find themselves back in their before the end of the season. A heavy SEC schedule awaits them though.
The Gators are off to a 3-0 start including single digit victories against WCU and Kentucky the last two weeks.

Both teams will look to pick up an important SEC win as they hope to keep pace with Georgia – the current favorites to win the SEC East.
Tennessee
The Volunteers rushing attack has been off to a very strong start this season averaging 246 yards per game on the ground.
They’ll be up against one the best rushing defenses in the country as the Gators have only allowed 55.3 rushing yards per game.

Going up against such a strong run defense, there will be pressure on Vols quarterback Joshua Dobbs to air it out a little bit more than usual.
Dobbs will have to improve on his 58.1 completion percentage and 6.41 yards per attempt because that won’t be enough against the Gators.
The Vols defense has been pretty impressive thus far including holding Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma’s high powered passing attack to 187 passing yards and only 17 points in regulation before falling 31-24 in double OT.
Florida
As mentioned, the Gators have one heck of a run defense. They will have their hands full with a Tennessee attack that includes multiple backs and a quarterback who is a threat to run as well.
The Gators ability to stop the run will determine the outcome of this football game.
Dobbs and the Volunteer passing attack is below average. They likely will try to air it out rather than fight through an almost immovable object in the Gators run defense.
Kentucky gave the Gators a better game last week than they historically have but ultimately fell up short in their attempt to end a 28 game losing streak against the Gators.
The Gators will look to keep another streak going as they will look to extend their winning streak against the Vols to 11 straight.

Quarterback Will Grier provides a dual threat to Florida’s offense that will become even more difficult to defend if he improves throwing the football.
While his first performance in a SEC game this year wasn’t particularly great, he did enough to help the Gators pick up a win on the road in a pretty tough environment.
NCAA Football Handicapping Trends

While Grier is not the same caliber as former Gator dual threat quarterback Tim Tebow, he does have a defense that could make him do what Tebow did best – win. He won’t fill out the stat sheet but if Grier protects the football, this defense is good enough to slow down the Vols.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Florida -1.5
Another winning streak will continue this week as the Gators will win their 11th straight against the Vols and look forward to a huge Week 5 matchup as Ole Miss comes to town. Defense will lead the way in this one though.
