Both of these teams are 2-0 to start but neither has dominated. I guess that Georgia has been more impressive.
Tennessee is still looking for a signature win in the Jeremy Pruitt era. This would qualify but is unlikely.
Georgia has been getting by but a new QB might elevate them to another level.
Tennessee Volunteers
There is a clear tier in the SEC East right now. Tennessee, Georgia and Florida are all 2-0 and the rest of the division is 0-2. Something has got to give in this one.
Tennessee looked a little better last week than they did in their opener but Mizzou is in transition and they were playing at home.
The offense has been reasonably effective but they are taking on the team that everyone thinks has the best defense in the nation. They are going to need to be better.
Odds are this one will rest on whether Jarett Guarantano can make a few big plays. If he can they can stay with the Dawgs throughout the game.
I am not there with Tennessee, definitely not so early in the season. They are going to show they are not in the same tier as Georgia in this one.
Georgia Bulldogs
As this is being written the status of transfer JT Daniels is undetermined. Given there was some rumours he would suit up last week he can’t be too far off, can he?
While they have been sorting out the offense the defense has been pretty much as advertised. They have given up only 16 points over two games. Remember those are two league games, not FCS cupcakes.
Stetson Bennett is not going to win the Heisman but he has been a nice story. He takes what is available and hasn’t made any costly mistakes. That approach can get UGA a win here.
Georgia should get more of a test in this one but we thought that was going to be the case against Auburn too. The Tigers did not have much bite.

Free Week 6 NCAA Football Pick
Bigger lines with Georgia should give you pause until they prove that their offense can score with consistency. This one is not so big though.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Georgia -12
The simple breakdown of this one is that Georgia wins each half by a touchdown. I can definitely get behind that outcome.
I also really like the Bulldogs to completely shut down the Vols. I can see Tennessee barely scratching double-digits and UGA winning going away.
