The Cincinnati Bearcats will host the Temple Owls for their first AAC game of the season. Temple enters on the heels of a hard-fought victory over Memphis, while Cinci is coming off of arguably their biggest win in school history.
HISTORY: Temple and Cincinnati have crossed paths over twenty times in the past 50 years. Temple holds the all-time series lead 13-8-1, but the Bearcats have won four of the last five meetings.
Temple Owls
The Temple Owls opened AAC play strong with a home win over Memphis. The Tigers jumped out to an early 17-0 lead, but the Owls would tie things up at halftime and take their first lead late in the fourth quarter en route to the 34-31 victory.
D’Wan Mathis had the best start of his young career. The Georgia transfer led a forceful comeback, going 35-49 for a career-high 322 passing yards with three touchdowns to zero interceptions. Mathis also added 53 yards on the ground, and he gives the Owls a good chance at making their first bowl appearance in multiple seasons.

Edward Saydee and Tayvon Ruley handled the workload last week in the win over Memphis. Saydee totaled 62 rushing yards on 12 carries, while Ruley gained 27 yards and found the endzone for the first time this season.
Jose Barbon and Randle Jones have given Mathis a reliable pair of receivers to throw to. Barbon leads the team in catches (21) and yards (280), and he scored his first touchdown of the year in the win over the Tigers. Jones has 14 catches for 240 yards and a team-lead two touchdowns.
Cincinnati Bearcats
Cincinnati may have pulled off the biggest win in school history, and that may have just been a start for this season. After knocking off Notre Dame, the Bearcats have tackled their biggest obstacle or the season, and now appear in the driver’s seat to make their first College Football Playoff appearance.
Desmond Ridder is having an impressive senior season so far. The fourth-year starter was clutch on the road in South Bend last weekend, going 19-31 for 297 passing yards with two touchdowns to no interceptions. Riddler also scored on the ground for the third time this season.
Jerome Ford had a very strong month of September. The redshirt sophomore has run for 367 yards on 67 carries and six touchdowns this season. Ford has also catch touchdown passes in the previous two games, and he complimented Ridder extremely well.
Alec Pierce and Michael Young Jr. lineup on the outside for Cinci. Pierce caught six passes for 144 yards against the Fighting Irish, and he leads the team in catches (15) and yards (294). Young Jr. has caught four passes in each of the past two.
Free Week 6 NCAA Football Pick
Another season and another group of five school has the look of a national championship contender. Cincinnati’s defense is real, and we trust them opening up AAC play the right way.
4* Free Week 6 NCAA Betting Pick: Cincinnati -28.5
The Bearcats are coming off of their biggest win in school history, and their momentum should carry over here. Temple had a strong showing against Memphis last weekend, but this Cincinnati defense may overwhelm them early and often here. The game spread is massive due to their momentum, but although Temple’s offense has shown life, we won’t overthink a smooth Friday play here.
Start the weekend off right and take Cincinnati’s lofty game spread, as they have their eyes set on the CFB Playoffs.
