The Pitt Panthers will be taking on the Michigan State Spartans in the Peach Bowl on December 30th. The kickoff is set for 7:00 ET from Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
In the last game that these teams played, both picked up victories.
The Panthers started off as a 4.5 point favorite and they are now a 1.5 point dog. The total has gone from 63 to 60.
Pitt Panthers
Pitt had an excellent season this year. I thought they could be solid, but I never saw them having this kind of record.
The Panthers crushed the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the ACC Title game by a score of 45-21. The win did not surprise me, but I did not expect them to crush them by that much.
In the win over Wake Forest, Kenny Pickett was 20/33 for 253 yards with 2 touchdown passes. He may not be on the level of Bryce Young or CJ Stroud, but this guy here is a helluva quarterback.
The running game was not the focal point of their offense in the title game. It was really all about the receivers. Jordan Addison was the leading receiver with 8 catches for 126 yards.
The defense struggled a lot throughout the year, but I really like the way they played against Wake Forest. Keeping a team like that to that few points is no easy task. They will once again be in for a challenge when they face a very good offense in the Spartans.
Michigan State Spartans
Overall, Michigan State had a very good year. I never thought they were quite an elite squad, but I put them in the category just below that.
The Spartans ended their regular season on November 27th by beating the Penn State Nittany Lions 30-27. That was a very impressive win for them. It will be just as hard if not harder when they go against Pitt in the Peach Bowl.
Payton Thorne was 19/30 for 268 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 pick against Penn State. Overall, I was very impressed with the way he played this year.
Kenneth Walker had another monster game in their last game. He had 30 carries for 138 yards with 1 touchdown run. Jayden Reed was the leading receiver with 6 catches for 89 yards. I look for those two guys to have big days on December 30th, provided that they play.
For as good as the offense was, the defense really struggled this year. Their secondary got torched against very good offenses, especially when they got thrashed by Ohio State. I am not sure how this unit will play when they face a very explosive offense in Pitt.

Free Peach Bowl NCAA Football Analysis
If you asked me at the beginning of the year who was going to play in the Peach Bowl, I never thought that either of these teams would be in it.
In this game, I like Pitt at +1.5 here.
4* Peach Bowl NCAA Betting Pick:
Oh boy, I can see there be plenty of offense in this game. Two very good offenses and two questionable defenses are a formula for lots of points.
It does not seem like people are giving Pitt a chance here, but I really feel good with them in this one. With everything being equal on a neutral site, I feel that the Panthers are the better team.
In this spot, I do not trust the Spartans covering. I just do not have that much confidence in their defense being able to stop the Panthers. Forget just covering the 1.5, I would not be surprised if Pitt wins this game outright because they are a worthy team and they absolutely will not be intimated by a team such as Michigan State.
Give me the Panthers getting 1.5 points in the Peach Bowl.
