We have reached week nine of the college football season and this is a big time showdown at the Big House.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Michigan Wolverines face off in a night game. This is an intense rivalry that should be very competitive.

On offense the Fighting Irish are led by quarterback Ian Book who has been solid. So far this year he has thrown for 1,419 yards, 14 touchdowns, and two interceptions.

On the defensive side they are giving up only 16.8 points per game but in their last game against USC even though they won, they gave up up 27 points.

In this game the defense needs to step up in a big way. If the defense is strong they should have enough offense to get the job done.

Michigan Wolverines

On the other side of this matchup is the Michigan Wolverines who have been a really hard team to figure out this year and now there are rumors that Jim Harbaugh might be done at the end of the season.

The Wolverines have beaten the teams they are supposed to but in the games they were expected to struggle in they couldn’t step up in. That has been the story with Harbaugh, his teams don’t win in big games and a loss in this game would really be a big disapointment.

The key in this game for the Wolverines is how well their quarterback Shea Patterson is going to be able to play. He has thrown for 1,522 yards, nine touchdowns, and four interceptions. He is going to need to make big throws probably late and he needs to complete them.
