The New Mexico State Aggies and Liberty Flames will meet for the 2nd time this season and the 4th time in 2 years when they clash on Saturday in Lynchburg..
This highly anticipated Independent clash, well okay, this game is set for a 2 PM EDT kickoff as the Aggies carry a 2-game winning streak into this weekend after losing their first 9 games of the season. Of course, it helps when Incarnate Word and UTEP land on your schedule late in the season, but that’s one of the pleasures of being in this Conference thingy they call Independent.
Liberty is bowl eligible at 7 – 5 and they have taken 2 of the 3 meetings over the last 2 seasons in this series. Not only does this Indep thing make no sense, but it also gives us all the beauty of getting 2 NM State vs. Liberty games every year, yay! LOL

New Mexico State Aggies
Well, look who has a 2-game win streak now, baby? Woo hoo, I mean what a disappointing season it has been in Las Cruces in 2019 with your only 2 wins coming against Incarnate Word and UTEP..
One thing head coach Doug Martin has managed to do really well though, is to find a way to a 3 – 9 season every damn year! This dude has a job how again? Did making it to the post-season in 2017 with a win over Utah State in the Arizona Bowl really mean his job is safe for the immediate future?
New Mexico State is obviously not going to attract a big name to come to town and rebuild this program, but someone has got to come in here and change the dynamic. Losing isn’t fun, and a 22 – 62 record in 7 years really doesn’t speak to a future worth looking forward to under Doug Martin.
The last time these two met it was a homecoming outing for the Aggies on October 5 and Liberty came to town and took a 20 – 13 win. How down was Coach Martin after the game? Well, over at The Round Up, which is the school paper since 1907, you can see what was said after that game. “We’re just really killing ourselves,” head coach Doug Martin said. “You have to get sick and tired of being sick and tired, then you do something about that… [Our guys] are just a little snake-bitten right now.”
Hmm hmm, and I think it only got worse from there as the losing streak stretched to 9 games before finally breaking into the W column this season. INCARNATE WORD MAN!?! Come on now, who the hell scheduled that game and who accepted to play it is the other question?
Sophomore QB Josh Adkins certainly needs to work on his game in the off-season if he plans on helping Martin keep his job beyond next season Adkins has thrown 11 TDs but the 14 INTs really doesn’t help matters much. His offensive line is shit too, as Adkins has seen the ground 30 times and that’s just the sacks total as he has spent more time laying down than standing up in 2019.
Senior RB Jason Huntley is going to topple the 1,000-yard mark in rushing this season, as he simply needs 15 yards to reach the magic number. even more impressive is that he has carried the ball 137 times and averages 7.2 yards a carry.

Liberty Flames
Liberty is likely going to land in their first-ever bowl game in 2019, and head coach Hugh Freeze is ecstatic about it. The Flames have 17 seniors on their roster for Military Appreciation and Senior Day all in the same shot this Saturday in Lynchburg.
The team will commemorate the Bedford Boys who were involved with WW1 and company A, and among all the honors the team will change what normally reads “Flames” on the back of their helmet to “Bedford Boys” instead. Pretty cool, man, and I say thank you to all of our men and women who have served to keep this country ours safe that we call home!
Stephen Calvert is putting up a nice final campaign wearing the #12 jersey in Lynchburg, and that 25 – 5 TD to INT ratio attests to that to go along with the 3,224 passing yards. Calvert has the Flames ranked 16th in a passing offense that tosses the rock for 301.5 yards per contest.
Antonio Gandy-Golden has quite a relationship with Calvert, as the wideout has amassed 1,304 yards and has found glory 9 times this season.
Frankie Hickson and Joshua Mack are both reliable in the run game as they have combined to carry the ball 242 times having gained 1,356 yards.

Free Week 14 NCAA Football Pick
The play goes to the total, and I expect a good bit of offense to be on display this Saturday in Lynchburg. Calvert will want to go out in fine-fashion playing his last game at this stadium, and we all know that neither of these two defenses is worth a damn.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: The line shows Liberty favored by 14 with a 65 on the total.
The Over 65 is the play to make on the total.
