We got a big game to decide who is going to play in the Mountain West championship on Friday night. The Nevada Wolfpack will be technically hosting the Spartans on Friday due to a large spike in COVID cases in Sara Clara county.
Nevada Wolfpack
Nevada enters this game with a chance to play in the Mountain West title game. The Wolfpack have only dropped one game this season a 24-21 setback at Hawaii two weeks ago on the island.
The offense will go as far as Carson Strong will throw them. The sophomore quarterback has completed 69.5 percent of his passes for 2,327 yards. He has a terrific 21:4 TD to INT ratio this season and leads the Mountain West in passing and passing touchdowns this season.

Strong’s top target has been junior wide receiver Romeo Doubs, who has caught 44 passes for 885 yards and nine touchdowns. Junior tight end Cole Turner has also had a very good season adding 40 catches for 496 yards and six scores.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Wolfpack allow 21.9 points per game which is good for 29th in the FBS. They surrender 240.3 yards through the air and 120.9 yards on the ground per game.
San Jose State Spartans
San Jose State has a chance to complete a perfect season during an imperfect year on Friday night. The Spartans have won all five of their games that they have been able to play this year. They had games at Fresno State and Boise State canceled due to COVID-19 and that might be a blessing in disguise at the end of the day.
The Spartans offense has been solid all season, averaging 419.2 yards per game. Senior quarterback Nick Starkel leads the offense and has done a nice job transitioning as a first-year transfer. He has completed 66.2 percent of his passes for 1,147 yards this season. He has been efficient and has an 11-to-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio.
Senior running back Tyler Nevens is averaging 6.9 yards per carry on 39 touches. Senior wide receiver Bailey Gaither leads the team with 29 receptions for 471 yards and four touchdowns.
Defensively, the Spartans allow 17.0 points per game which is good for 12th in the country. They surrender 221.8 passing yards per game and 151.8 rushing yards per game.

Free Week 15 NCAA Football Prediction:
I like Nevada to win this game outright. Sophomore QB Carson Strong is the real deal and people aren’t giving this Nevada team enough credit this season. They are the 43rd ranked offense in the country overall but have the 9th best passing offense in the country. The Spartans have had a pretty weak schedule thus far and even missed the two toughest games due to COVID (Fresno State and Boise State). The numbers statistically are a bit inflated for San Jose State because of the weak schedule and that’s why they rank in the top 10 in defense in the country. I think Nevada will get the win handily and we will see them in the Mountain West title game.
