Saturday night will have a bunch of SEC matchups headlining the 7:00 slate. One of those games will have the Missouri Tigers going on the road to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks.
The last time Missouri played a game was in October due to a bunch of COVID issues in Colombia, while the Gamecocks are coming off a loss to Mississippi State 59-42.
Missouri Tigers
The Tigers have not played a game in over a month so expect some rust from this team as they have not practiced in almost three weeks leading up to this game. Missouri took a loss against Florida in their last game on Halloween and will try to save their season by stringing off some wins before the holiday break.
Eli Drinkwitz’s squad hasn’t looked great offensive team this year due to a bunch of opt-outs on the team. They are missing four of their five starting offensive linemen from last season and that is a challenge for any team. The offense ranks 99th in rushing and 42nd in passing while averaging 22.6 ppg, which is 101st in the nation.
Connor Bazelek looked pretty good to start the season going up against two weak defenses but hasn’t performed very well in his last two games. He threw for just 409 yards with no TDs and no INTs in his last two games, but he has a shot of breaking out here against South Carolina’s 111th ranked pass defense. It will be interesting to see if his rhythm is the same after missing almost a month of practice time.

Missouri has also struggled on defense, especially the pass, as they come in ranked 100th in that department. The Gators threw for 345 yards on them in their last game, but Missouri will be facing a passing game that has been less than stellar this year.
South Carolina Gamecocks
South Carolina will be playing their first game this weekend following the firing of the head coach Will Muschamp. Mike Bobo will take over the play call duties in Colombia, who spent the last five years at Colorado State calling the plays.
In their last game, the Gamecocks lost 59-42 at Mississippi State, and they have now allowed a walloping 593.0 yards per game and 53.0 ppg over their last three games. BIG YIKES as the kids say. Teams have run for 245 yards per game and thrown for 348 yards per game over that stretch. The pass defense has been horrible overall this year at 111th, and they will be facing a Missouri offense that is 42nd in passing. It could be another long game for this defense.
The South Carolina offense has been subpar this season, especially a passing game that is ranked 91st in the FBS. It has a chance to get its act together in this one with the Tigers struggling to defend the pass this year. Collin Hill had a fair game against Ole Miss as he threw for 230 yards with a TD and an INT, and he has now thrown for 1372 yards with six TDs and six INTs on the year.

4* Free NCAA Betting Prediction: South Carolina +6.5
I love South Carolina in this one. I think that the Gamecocks will rally behind their interim head coach at home and get the upset against the Tigers. Most people forget that the Tigers have four players suspended on their offense for the first half of the game as they partook in a fight that broke out in their game against Florida. Missouri is absolutely gashed right now by COVID and it really has taken a toll on teams this season. Carolina has not looked that bad on offense, but need to be just average on defense in this one to get the one or at least cover the spread. Give me South Carolina to cover the spread in Columbia on Saturday night and sprinkle some on the Moneyline if you like to take that risk.
