We have reached week five of the college football season and in this game it’s a Big Ten showdown. The Minnesota Golden Gophers make the trip to West Lafayette to take on the Purdue Boilermakers.
Last season when these two teams faced off Minnesota won 41-10.
Minnesota Golden Gophers
The Minnesota Golden Gophers have won all three of the games but all three have taken late comebacks and they easily could be 0-3.

The offense has been good and had success, but the defense has struggled in each of the last two games giving up 35 and 32 points respectively.

At quarterback, the Golden Gophers are led by Tanner Morgan who has thrown for 699 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions. He has had a couple of turnovers in bad situations and it’s something he really needs to work on because they can’t happen in this game.
On the defensive side they probably need to create a couple of turnovers and get a lot of pressure on the quarterback early and often.
Purdue Boilermakers
On the other side of this matchup is the Purdue Boilermakers who have one big question heading into this game, who is going to start at quarterback.
Elijah Sindelar is officially questionable at quarterback because he is dealing with concussion-like symptoms and if he can’t go it will be Jake Plummer.
Against TCU Plummer really struggled throwing for 181 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. He also can’t have interceptions in this game if he wants Purdue to come away with a victory.
ON the defensive side of the ball, the Boilermakers need to take away the run. If they can take away the run the defense is going to be in good shape.

This game all comes down to who starts at quarterback for the Boilermakers and I would wait to make a bet until you know who is starting.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Minnesota ATS
If Sindelar can go I think they are the better team in this matchup, but I am going to assume he might not be able to go in this game.
With him out I think the Gophers come away with a win on the road.
