The LSU Tigers, a football powerhouse program will open their season with this home game against McNeese State, although the school are only around 125 miles away from each other, this is their second time ever playing each other.
LSU come into this game ranked #13 in the nation and will be expected to cruise through this game and get the win so they can focus on SEC conference play when they open with games against Mississippi State and Auburn.
McNeese State started their season last year by almost winning their match-up against Nebraska, but Ameer Abdullah does what he does best and ran for 1 more TD than McNeese state could produce.
McNeese will try to put in another strong performance to start their season.
The McNeese State Cowboys will be returning 17 starters and are stocked up with veterans including quarterback Daniel Sams.
6 – 5 is the record the Cowboys put up last year in the FCS, they will be hoping to get something positive out of this game, their defense will be a crucial key for them if they want to keep this contest close. The McNeese State defense posted solid stats last season, only allowing 113 rushing yards per game.
The Cowboys were in a similar situation to this last year when they played on the road against a tough Nebraska team that was ranked #19 at the time, they came within one touchdown of bringing the game into overtime and will be going into this match positive no doubt.
The LSU Tigers are constantly a premier football program every year. LSU has a fantastic coaching and recruiting program, their offensive lines do a great job of creating space for the heavy LSU run game and creating a solid pocket for the QB, which will be Brandon Harris to start the year off.
The LSU defense is always feared, they wear teams down with their big D-Line and lots of hard hits and big tackles. On the defensive side of the ball the Tigers return middle line backer Kendell Beckwith, safety Jamal Adams and starting tackles Davon Godchaux and Christian LaCouture.
LSU finished last season with a record of 8 – 5, including a loss to Notre Dame in the Music City Bowl 31 – 28.
The Tigers will be looking to put in a better performance this year and it has to start at the quarterback position with Brandon Harris who only started one game last year, it was against Auburn and he went 3 – 14 for 58 yards, 52 yards came off of one throw alone.
LSU expects bigger things from him in 2015.

Week 1 NCAA Football Prediction
I expect LSU to do what they do best and crush McNeese State with their powerful defense. It may take a little bit for LSU QB Harris to get into rhythm, but he should have a solid outing, after all he did beat out all other QB options, he’s not as bad as his 3 for 14 game last year.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: LSU
Expect LSU to dominate from the start, LSU is predicted to have one of the best running games in the nation this year, with Leonard Fournette setting a school record as a freshman last year, they will wear down the Cowboys and easily get this win in front of the Tiger Stadium fans.
