The Louisville Cardinals are certainly having a down year, but their defense seriously showed up in their last game against Syracuse, as they pitched a shutout last week in a 30-0 win. That should give the Cardinals a decent amount of confidence that they can go into Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill on Saturday and pick up the big W.
Boston College has had a decent season, with them only losing against ranked opponents, but they did have chances to come away with W’s in some of those games and taking down a ranked opponent obviously would have been a great cherry on the top of this 2020 season for the Eagles.
Louisville Cardinals
With the talent this Cardinals team has, I certainly believe they are better than that 3-6 record and it would not surprise me if last week’s performance against Syracuse jump starts this team into finishing the season strong.
Malik Cunningham is a real exciting dual threat quarter-back who has shown be shades of Lamar at times this year and it will be interesting how he performs against this Boston College defense.
The running game does not stop there for the Cardinals, however, as Javian Hawkins has been a solid number 1 RB for this team with 822 yards on the season to go along with 7 TD’s.
Boston College Eagles
The Boston College Eagles were outclassed in their last outing against Notre Dame, as they gave up 45 points, allowing the Fighting Irish well over 500 yards of total offense. They did come back with some points of their own, though, putting up a respectable 31 points but there was no point in that game where you really felt that Notre Dame had a chance of losing.
A lot of the Eagle’s success this year is because of sophomore QB Phil Jurkovec who has well over 2000 passing yards on the season to go along with a very good 22-5 TD to INT ratio. Jurkovec will need to bring his best here, though, as it looks like this Louisville Cardinals defense is starting to get hot and they are unlikely to make Saturday easy on this Eagles offense.
