The battle of the Iowa’s takes to the field Saturday afternoon in Ames as the Iowa Hawkeyes out of the Big 10 take on the Iowa State Cyclones from the Big 12.
The two teams met on 9/13 of last year in what ended up being a thriller. Iowa State drove down the field and ended up hitting a game winning field goal with just 2 seconds left to silence the sold out Hawkeye crowd.

This season, both teams on paper expect to be just as close and their Week 1 performances reflect that.
Both teams threw up a 31 spot against their respect opponents while allowing 14 points (Iowa) and 7 points (Iowa State).
Iowa
The Hawkeyes saw QB Jake Rudock transfer to Michigan to become the starter which left them with a couple questions. CJ Beathard was given the starting nod and he impressed in game one as QB.
Beathard threw for 211 yards and a touchdown in the Hawkeyes 31-14 win. Beathard got the receivers all involved as Jordan Canzeri had 4 receptions for 90 yards, Matt VandeBerg had 6 receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown, and Jacob Hillyer and Tevaun Smith had 5 receptions combined.

Free Week 2 NCAA Football Prediction
This, like last season, is essentially a coin flip. Both teams like to control the clock and establish a run game, which could set us up for another low scoring rivalry game.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Iowa State ATS
The home field advantage here gives the Cyclones the slight edge. Richardson looked extremely good in Week 1, granted it was against UNI, but still. Expect him to play similar to how he did last season against Iowa en route to a Cyclones home win.
