The Iowa State Cyclones will look to keep their momentum going, as they are coming into this game on a 3 game winning streak and will now face one of their biggest tests of the entire season.
The Longhorns are also coming into this contest with a 3 game winning streak, although Texas is coming off of a really hard fought win against West Virginia who they beat 17-13 and they should be ready for more of the same, as the Iowa State Cyclones will not make things easy on them.
Iowa State Cyclones
Iowa State were close to 14 point favorites in their last game against Kansas State, so most people thought they would win, but they ended up putting in an absolute dominating performance taking that game by 45-0 and getting their first shut out of the year.
They had over 500 yards of total offense and allowed Kansas State only 149 yards of total offense and although I do not expect a defensive performance anywhere close to that on Friday, I do think a performance like they had against Kansas State can do this unit a world of good going into a tough test against Sam Ehlinger and this Longhorns offense.
Breece Hall is the guy to watch here for the Cyclones, as he is the heart of this run first offense having already amassed well over 1000 rushing yards and an incredible 15 touchdowns off of just 180 attempts.
Texas Longhorns
The Longhorns only out gained West Virginia last game by 3 yards with the standout performer being running back Bijan Robinson who had his first 100+ rushing yard day of the year which really propelled the Longhorns to that victory.
The key to victory here for the Longhorns is getting Sam Ehlinger going again, who has failed to crack 200 yards passing in his last two games and they will have to hope this off-week will help him get going again in what should be a very tough game.
