Defensively, things aren’t terrible but far from elite. They’ve given up 174 points (73rd) yet remain opportunistic with 5 interceptions (6th) and 5 fumble recoveries (7th). They’ve also tallied 14 sacks, ranking 18th — proof the front seven can still get pressure.
The problem? They can’t finish drives or sustain possessions. In their five-game losing streak, Penn State’s offense has managed just 10 touchdowns total. The 38-14 Ohio State loss summed it up — only 200 total yards of offense and no rhythm at all.
Injuries have gutted them too. Starting QB Drew Allar is out for the season, while key weapons like WR Kaden Saunders remain questionable.
