Georgia had done enough damage to UL-Monroe on opening weekend that they had no interest in going back onto the field after a lightning delay to finish the remaining ten minutes of the fourth quarter.
Vanderbilt struggled again in their home opener as they lost on a last minute failed two point conversion over C-USA foe Western Kentucky.
The two teams will meet this Saturday to open SEC action. Vanderbilt will be looking to start their conference slate off better than their non-conference schedule – a tall task in the SEC. Georgia will be looking to build off of last week and get things rolling before they hit the meat of their schedule.

Georgia
The plethora of Bulldog weapons was on full display in the opening three quarters.
Heisman hopeful Nick Chubb ran for 120 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries. Keith Marshall ran for 73 yards and two touchdowns of his own on 10 carries.
The Bulldog’s quarterback play from Greyson Lambert – and Brice Ramsey for a couple throws – was nearly perfect.

Their defense played fine – tallying a couple of sacks along with a safety, four forced fumbles, and an interception.
But, this was all against UL-Monroe. Now, the Bulldogs will get their first taste of the SEC for the year.
Fortunately for them, it will be Vanderbilt – a consistent bottom feeder of SEC football.
Winning this game shouldn’t be a problem for Mark Richt’s squad. Doing so emphatically will be important come postseason time.
Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt was unable to produce any sort of offensive rhythm last week against Western Kentucky – one of the worst defenses in the FBS in 2014.
The Commodores scored just one touchdown against the Hilltoppers – they missed out on another after a drop on third down in the end zone.
Vanderbilt’s defense, however, did keep in check one of the best offenses in the FBS from last season. They applied pressure to quarterback Brandon Doughty all night. Western Kentucky put up just 14 points after averaging 44 points per game last season.
After all, Western Kentucky is a hopeful to win C-USA. Georgia is a favorite by some to win the SEC.
To keep this game close, Vandy will need to be flawless on offense. The Bulldogs have a dominant run game so controlling the trenches will be important too.

Mason wanted control of the Commodore defense this year and now he’s got it and he has a tall task in front of him in Chubb and the Bulldog offense.

Vandy offensive linemen Jake Bernstein claimed he would rather have Vandy RB Ralph Webb at running back than Nick Chubb. And yes, they checked – he was not concussed.
Perhaps he doesn’t remember Chubb rushing for 78 yards on 8 carries against the Commodores last year – as the backup running back nonetheless.
Don’t insult one of the best running backs in the country. I’m sure Bernstein’s teammates on defense are thrilled about his bulletin board material.
Chubb will run wild, again. The Bulldogs will beat the Commodores to avenge their loss in Nashville in 2013.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Georgia -20.5
Bernstein will eat his words when the Bulldog’s front seven is in his face all day long. Chubb will prove why he is the best. The Bulldogs will roll.
“Glory, glory to old Georgia!” Cue the music.
