One of the worst teams in college football, the UCONN Huskies, will travel down the coast to take on the Clemson Tigers. The Huskies have been blown out in over half their games this season meanwhile Clemson is having a down year but creeping their way back into the ranking conversation.
It’s Tigers homecoming weekend which could be a dance the Huskies want to skip.
Connecticut enters this game understanding that there is no hope to win outright. The Huskies will simply be trying to keep the game close for as long as possible. They have not been effective at doing that so far this season, losing 6 of their 9 games by double digits.
Connecticut was only a 14-point underdog against Middle Tennessee State last weekend, but it lost by a lopsided final of 44-13. The Blue Raiders scored in all four quarters and outscored their opponent 20-0 in the second half.
The Huskies have been atrocious offensively this year, ranked No. 126 out of 130 FBS teams in yards per game (281.6).
Sophomore quarterback Steven Krajewski has completed 56.3 percent of his passes for 938 yards and 6 touchdowns with 7 interceptions. Wide receiver Keelan Marion has been the top target in the passing game, catching 23 passes for 420 yards and 5 touchdowns. Running back Nathan Carter has rushed 104 times for 469 yards, avg. 4.5 yards per carry.
Clemson has had a disappointing and frustrating season by their usual championship aspiration standards. The Tigers opened the year with a loss to now-top ranked Georgia and they have added losses to North Carolina State and Pittsburgh.
They have bounced back from the loss to the Panthers with wins over Florida State and Louisville. Clemson has played one team of a similar caliber to Connecticut—it came in the second game of the year against South Carolina State which they won 49-3. Their other five wins have all come by 10 points or less.
Clemson’s offense struggled to get anything going early in the season, which is why it is ranked No. 113 in yards per game (330.1). The Tigers have started to turn things around, though, scoring 30 points in each of their last 2 outings.
Quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei has completed 56.2% of his passes for 1,511 yards and 7 touchdowns with 6 interceptions. . Wide receiver Justyn Ross has caught 43 passes for a team-best 474 yards and 3 touchdowns, while wide receiver Joseph Ngata has added 23 receptions for 438 yards.c

4* Free Week 11 NCAA Betting Pick:
Clemson has as much motivation to blow out its homecoming opponent as any team in college football. The Tigers have had an extremely frustrating season and have not been able to put teams away. Connecticut is probably the worst team in the FBS, so Clemson will have a chance to right some wrongs on Saturday at home.
The Tigers have won their last 10 home games and blew out South Carolina State earlier this season. Connecticut is used to laying down when the going gets tough.
Take the Tigers to win big and creep back into the top 25 rankings.
