The Golden Bears have had their season shortened by two cancelled games and their first game last week could not have gone worse as they were blown out by their in-state rivals the UCLA Bruins.
Oregon State has looked decent at times this year, but have started out 0-2 losing to both Washington and Washington State who were both able to move the ball effectively against this Beavers defense.
California Golden Bears
Junior QB Chase Garbers is coming off a decent season in 2019, but he did not really look ready to go in week 1 as he only threw for 122 yards 0 TD’s and 1 INT. The Golden Bears rushing defense was also a point of concern, as they gave up well over 200 yards rushing and needles to say if they allow that kind of rushing success against the Beavers here on Saturday they will be leaving Oregon with another loss.
I do, however, think the Golden Bears can bounceback, as I think they needed that first game especially Chase Garbers who I am sure did not just forget how to play football and should be primed for a decent performance here given his direct matchup with this Beavers secondary.
Oregon State Beavers
The Oregon State Beavers last game was really disappointing, as they did not come close to cracking 300 yards of total offense, as well as being careless with the ball turning it over twice compared to Washington’s 0 turnovers.
Jemar Jefferson rushing the ball was the one big positive for these Beavers to take from that game, as he looks like the focal point of this offense and after a big performance last week he now has 253 yards and 4 TD’s.
