BYU Cougars
BYU is coming off of one of the best seasons in school history. Led by quarterback Zach Wilson, the Cougars posted an 11-1 record with a lone blemish on the road to Coastal Carolina, when they hosted College Gameday for the first time in school history.
Head coach Kalani Sitake will enter his sixth season in charge. The former BYU fullback has led them to a 38-25 record in five years, with three bowl victories.
With Wilson moving on the pros, Jaren Hall returns from his LDS mission right in time. Hall played in five games during 2019, and the dual-threat quarterback threw for 420 passing yards and a touchdown while adding 139 rushing yards and three scores on the ground.

Tyler Allgeier is back after leading BYU in rushing last season. The sophomore back turned 131 carries into 957 rushing yards, and he scored twelve touchdowns. Junior back Lopini Katao will join him, and he’s totaled 1,153 rushing yards, 16 touchdowns, and 61 catches so far in his career.
Leading receivers Gunner Romney and Neil Pau’u also returned to BYU. Romney led the Cougars with 38 catches and 755 yards, while Pauu brought in 40 receptions for 517 yards, and a team-leading three touchdowns.
Arizona Wildcats
Arizona endured an abysmal 2020 season. Not only did the Wildcats go 0-5, but they ended their season with a humiliating 70-7 lost to in-state rival Arizona State.
Arizona replaced Kevin Sumlin with former Patriots quarterback coach Jedd Fisch. This is his first head coaching gig, but Fisch has a very diverse coaching background, holding various positions at both the NCAA and the NFL level.
The Wildcats will again enter the season with questions at quarterback again. Incoming USF transfer Jordan McCloud should get the first start of the season. He threw for 1,341 yards, with nine touchdowns to two interceptions for the Bulls last season.
Michael Wiley and Darrius Smith return to lead the Arizona backfield. Wiley rushed for 222 yards on just 31 carries with three scores last season, while Smith totaled 384 yards during 2019.
The Wildcats will get back three of their top pass catches from last season. Redshirt junior Stanley Berryhill III led the team with 23 catches for 227 yards and three touchdowns. Ma’Jon Wright was second with 15 catches and 176 yards as a freshman.
