Razorbacks vs. Aggies Gameday
Arkansas heads to College Station for a Week 5 SEC matchup with Texas A&M at Kyle Field. Both teams enter at 2-2, with the Razorbacks 0-1 in conference play and the Aggies 0-2.
Kickoff is set for 6 PM CT and 7 PM ET on ESPN2.
Arkansas closed non-conference play with a convincing home victory and now returns to SEC competition. Texas A&M gets back to Kyle Field after consecutive road and conference setbacks.
Two 2-2 teams badly need an SEC win, so subtle desperation should be easy to locate Saturday night.
The rivalry returns to College Station for the first time since 2020. Arkansas owns the historical edge, but recent meetings have belonged to the Aggies.

Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Texas A&M Aggies Odds & Last 5
The opening odds make Texas A&M a substantial home favorite. The Aggies are -637 on the moneyline, Arkansas is +464, and A&M is laying 14 points.
The opening total is 50.5.
Arkansas beat Tulsa 34-6 last week, scoring 20 unanswered points after halftime. The victory stopped a two-game slide for the Razorbacks.

A&M has won four straight in the series.
The Aggies escaped Fayetteville with a 45-42 victory last season. Arkansas still leads the all-time series 42-37-3 and owns a 17-16-1 advantage in College Station.

Aggies Stats
Texas A&M couldn’t generate much offensively at LSU.
The Aggies finished with 197 total yards and 10 first downs while possessing the football for less than 24 minutes. Marcel Reed completed 10 of 26 passes for 106 yards.
David Olano supplied all of A&M’s scoring.
He made a 24-yard FG before halftime and added a career-long 53-yarder in the third quarter.
Rueben Owens II provided one of the few productive pieces on offense.
He carried 11 times for 62 yards, but the Aggies never established enough consistency to keep LSU’s defense on the field. A&M now returns home needing considerably better execution from the entire unit.
The previous week showed what this offense can look like when things are moving.
A&M generated 400 total yards against Kentucky, with Mario Craver catching 11 passes for 119 yards. The Aggies have pieces; getting all of them useful at the same time has been the annoying part.
Razorbacks Stats
Arkansas found its passing rhythm against Tulsa.
KJ Jackson threw for 309 yards, his first career 300-yard game, and added two rushing TD’s. The Razorbacks steadily pulled away after a scoreless opening quarter.
Chris Marshall had another huge afternoon.
The senior caught nine passes for 195 yards and a TD, giving him consecutive 100-yard games. He’s up to 473 receiving yards through four games and leads the SEC in that category.
Arkansas also got the kind of defensive afternoon it needed.
The Razorbacks kept Tulsa out of the end zone and allowed only two FG’s.
Arkansas finally got a comfortable Saturday, which naturally earned the Hogs a night trip to Kyle Field as a reward.
The passing connection between Jackson and Marshall has become the offense’s clearest weapon.
Marshall has led Arkansas in receiving in every game this season, giving Jackson a dependable option when the Razorbacks need to create something beyond the sticks.
Razorbacks vs. Aggies QB Matchup
Marcel Reed remains Texas A&M’s starter.
The senior is at his most dangerous when the pocket breaks down. His mobility forces defenses to maintain rush discipline because pressure alone doesn’t necessarily finish the play.
KJ Jackson brings a more pass-heavy profile for Arkansas.
The junior left-hander has been asked to carry a substantial portion of the offense through the air. His willingness to attack downfield gives the Razorbacks some explosiveness even when the running game isn’t producing much help.

Reed’s legs create the matchup problem for Arkansas.
If the Razorbacks lose containment, A&M can turn defended passing plays into useful gains without Reed ever throwing the football. Keeping him inside the structure of the play is the first priority.
Jackson faces a different challenge in his first trip to Kyle Field.
Crowd noise and obvious passing situations can make life miserable quickly, so Arkansas can’t live behind the chains. Give Jackson manageable downs and he’ll have opportunities to use his receivers rather than spending the night trying to rescue broken drives.
Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Texas A&M Aggies bottom line: A&M has the home setting and Reed’s mobility, while Arkansas brings enough downfield passing ability to keep the Aggies from getting comfortable.

Razorbacks Aggies Free Pick: Arkansas +14
Here is my Razorbacks Aggies free pick: I’m taking Arkansas +14. Texas A&M should have every motivational edge imaginable back at Kyle Field, but two TD’s is a healthy price for a team still trying to find some offensive consistency.
Arkansas gives me a legitimate way to attack that margin. Jackson can push the football downfield, and Marshall has developed into the kind of receiver who can flip field position without requiring a 12-play masterpiece. One or two explosives can change the math quickly when I’m holding 14.
Kyle Field is intimidating, but the scoreboard still requires the Aggies to earn all 14 of those points.
Reed is where Arkansas can get itself into trouble. His ability to escape pressure creates extra possessions within possessions, so the Hogs have to keep their rush disciplined instead of turning every third down into a backyard scramble.
I also like the late-game protection built into this number. Even if A&M controls most of the night, Arkansas has enough passing ability to threaten the back door if the Aggies loosen coverage with a lead. Give me Arkansas +14.
