Two teams from the SEC will be facing off when the Alabama Crimson Tide visits the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Alabama is coming off of a loss and Mississippi State had a bye week.
This opening odds had the Crimson Tide as 17.5 point favorites and the total set at 59.5.
Alabama Crimson Tide
The Tide suffered their first loss of the season last week and they are no longer the #1 ranked team in the nation. They now sit at #5.
Alabama was an 18 point favorite on the road against Texas A&M last Saturday and the Aggies beat them 41-38. Bama had their chances, but they could not do enough to get the win.
Quarterback Bryce Young was 28/48 for 369 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Although he had a solid day, he was inaccurate at times and he will look to clean that up this week. Running Brian Robison Jr. had another big day on the ground. He ran the ball 24 times for 147 yards.
The defense for this team has been good for the most part this year. With that said, they really had no answers for the offense of Texas A&M. Quarterback Zach Calzada did what he wanted to do out there. One thing the crimson tide defense did well in the loss was containing Isaiah Spiller who only had 46 yards on the ground.
Mississippi State Bulldogs
The Bulldogs have had a decent season so far. They will be in for their biggest challenge yet when they have to go against Alabama. Knocking off the Crimson Tide clearly would be a big statement win.
The Bulldogs had a bye week last week. The last game they played was on October 2nd when they upset Texas A&M and beat them 26-22. They will have a shot to pull off another one of those upsets this week.
In the game against the Aggies, quarterback Will Rogers once again looked good. He was 46/59 for 408 yards and 3 touchdown passes. I am sure he will be asked to throw the ball an awful lot against the Crimson Tide.
The running game was not very effective in the win two weeks ago. I cannot say that I am surprised given how much of the offense revolves around the passing game. Somebody who was effective in that game was receiver Makai Polk. He had 13 receptions for 126 yards. I am sure he will see a lot of targets in this game on Saturday.
The defense for this team has not been all that bad so far this year. They are really going to have to be on their game if they wish to slow down the offense of Alabama. Even if this unit is playing well, I would not be surprised to see the tide put up 35+ points on them.

Free Week 7 NCAA Football Pick
I like Alabama to cover the spread here. Alabama showed last week that they are not invincible. Any team, no matter how good they are, can be had on any given day.
With that said, I look for the Crimson Tide to put that loss beside them and win convincingly on Saturday.
4* Free Week 7 NCAA Betting Pick: Alabama ATS
They know that there is a long season to go still and they could still earn a playoff spot when all is said and done. I know they failed to cover a large spread on the road last week, but I am picking them to cover the 17 against the Bulldogs here.
I just think they are a much better team and they will assert their dominance early and often. I look for the offense to be free-flowing and for the defense to be much better than it was a week ago.
Give me the Tide here.
