2018 Football Preview – SEC – Tigers
Looking for 2018 LSU Tigers predictions?Another season of mediocrity was the story line the LSU Tigers who went 9-4 in 2017, while two of those losses were by four points or less. They didn’t have any business losing to Troy, but they played a highly ranked Notre Dame and Alabama squad competitively. They are still in the transition phases, but this squad is oozing with young talent, and now they just need to gain the experience.

If LSU can get the offense rolling, this could be last years Auburn squad.
2018 LSU Tigers Predictions: Team Strengths
Linebackers For Days:
LSU’s linebackers are going to be the face of this defense as they have three studs who are tackling machines.
Devin White led the Tigers with a ridiculous 133 tackles as he was free to roam the field.
Jacob Phillips will play second fiddle in total tackles, but he nonetheless will be an integral of this loaded linebacking corp.
K’Lavon Chaisson was a 6-4, 240 pound freshman last year and posted 27 tackles and two sacks, this time around he’ll be an experienced 6-4, 240 pound sophomore looking to break out.
Don’t Overlook the Secondary:
LSU will be without a couple key pieces in the secondary, but that doesn’t mean they are going to suffer without them.
One of the best cornerbacks will be covering half of the field in future draft pick Greedy Williams who was able to snag six picks last year.
They’ll also be featuring John Battle who is a safety with an knack for finding the football as he was able to post 61 tackles last season.
The fourth leading tackler from a year ago, Grant Delpit will chip in from the safety spot, but someone will have to emerge and take that opposite side of Williams.
2018 LSU Tigers Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Where Is The Production Going To Come From?:
The QB situation was up in the air, but after acquiring Ohio State transfer Joe Burrows, LSU is probably feeling a little less anxious, although Burrows is still largely unproven.
Derrius Guice and Darrel Williams are gone and that will be a lot of production for someone to fill.
Even the top-two receivers from last year DJ Chark and Russell Gage who helped a bleak offense average 411 yards per game and 27 points per game will be gone.
My guess is speedy Clyde Edwards-Helaire and bruiser Nick Brossette man the backfield in some type of committee approach.
As far as the receiving game, Justin Jefferson and Jonathan Giles are going to be the go-to guys, while we could see five-star recruit Terrace Marshall contribute right away.
The skill players are certainly there, but the biggest plus for this offense is they have an experienced line that will be returning nearly all of their starters.
LSU Tigers Prediction: 9-3
There is plenty of talent on the defensive side of the ball that should be one of the best in the country.
There is talent on the offensive side, but way to many questions lurk to make any type of solid case for their success.
This should be the dark-horse squad in the SEC as their schedule is favorable getting top-dogs Georgia and Alabama at home, but the they still cannot overlook any squads.
I think it is reasonable to believe LSU can reach the nine-win threshold and reach a nice bowl game.
