NFL Futures Betting – 2008 Denver Broncos Wagering Outlook
While longtime Denver Broncos, (7-9 SU, 5-11 ATS, 11-4-1 O/U) head coach Mike Shanahan is generally recognized as one of the best coaches of his era – and has two Super Bowl rings to back it up – the fact of the matter is that the Broncos enter the 2008 regular season looking to avoid a third straight season without a postseason appearance for the first time in Shanahan’s tenure after going 9-7 in 2006 and falling to 7-9 last season.

The Broncos struggled on both sides of the ball at times last season as second-year starter Jay Cutler continued his maturation process as an NFL starting quarterback.
BetUS online NFL betting fans should know that, despite their unimpressive 5-11 ATS record in 2007, Denver did manage to go a respectable 4-4 against the spread at home, though they were absolutely horrific against the spread on the road, going 1-7 away from the comforts of Mile High Stadium.

The Broncos’ biggest troubles came on defense last season as the team ranked 30th in rushing yards allowed last season, 28th in points allowed per game and 19th in total yards allowed per game.
To help shore up their porous defense, the Broncos added several veteran free agents in linebacker Boss Bailey, safety Marlon McCree and defensive ends Ebenezer Ekuban and John Engelberger.
Denver also added several wide receivers to the roster in Darrell Jackson, Keary Colbert, Edell Shepherd and second round pick Eddie Royal in the hopes of improving their 13th-ranked passing offense.
While the Broncos struggled immensely against the spread last season, the Top Sportsbooks online sports wagering community that loves its NFL betting, should know that Denver posted a spectacular 11-4-1 record in Over/Under, (O/U) wagers last season, going 6-1-1 in O/U picks at home and 5-3 in O/U wagers on the road.
If the Broncos – and their defense in particular – can raise the level of their play a bit in 2008, a playoff appearance may not be totally out of the question.
