This mentality should very much fall into the hands of the waiting Chippewas, who finished the season on a hot streak. Quarterback Dan LeFevour, who has gained over a thousand yards rushing, has led them and is the team’s leading rusher. He has scored 17 rushing TDs on the year and he will be licking his chops going up against a weak Purdue running defense. He will be playing the option, moving out of the pocket and ready to take off downfield if his receivers are covered. Making things harder on the Boilermakers is the fact that they must remain honest and not overcommit to stopping the run. If they bring up their back seven, LeFevour, who is great at throwing on the run, can get the ball behind them and they risk giving up huge yardage.

He and Ontario Sneed create a dynamic backfield that should be able to keep Purdue from cheating up on defense.
