Thursday, March 24th. the Washington Wizards play the Milwaukee Bucks for the third and final time this season. The clubs split the prior two matches with Washington winning 101-94 on November 7th and Milwaukee prevailing 112-98 on February 1st.
Washington last played Monday in an embarrassing 97-115 loss to the Rockets while the Bucks played Tuesday winning 126-98 versus the Bulls.

Add the Wizards to the teams in late-season tank mode. They’ve lost seven of their last eight matches and are clearly trying to drop a number of games down the stretch to improve their draft lottery odds.
With Bradley Beal shut down for the season now Kyle Kuzma is missing time as well. Kristaps Porzingis is getting some run for the team to figure out how he’ll fit in long term and so far has impressed his new fanbase.
Porzingis has played in eight games averaging 20.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, (2.4 offensive rebounds), 2.5 assists, and 1.6 blocks. However, his shooting efficiency isn’t great, especially for a big man — 48.1 percent from the field and 30.0 percent from the perimeter.
Kyle Kuzma (knee) and Vernon Carey Jr. (calf) were downgraded to out Thursday. Bradley Beal (wrist) had season-ending surgery.
Milwaukee Bucks
Go through the schedules and you’ll find teams taking advantage of the second game of back-to-back sets. The Bulls beat the Raptors on their second game then turned around and got blown out by the Bucks in their second game.
It’s something at this time of the season to keep an eye on. To that end, the top of the East is a jumble of teams all vying for the top seed — or are they?
Currently, the Heat sits atop the Conference but are losing some games in uncharacteristic fashion while each of the Bucks, 76ers, and Celtics are 1.5 games back of Miami. It sure feels like the top four clubs are trying to keep their options open and jockey for position.
Much of that is due to the concern on where the Nets will be seeded – none of the top teams wants to face Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in the first round.
With New York expected to lift the vaccine mandates today, it will free up Irving to play at home but they may have run out of time to move up to the guaranteed sixth seed and so the jostling at the top continues.
While I doubt the Bucks care as much as the 76ers about playing the Nets, again, no team wants the harder path to the finals, and drawing Brooklyn first would definitely be the toughest path.
Khris Middleton (wrist) is downgraded to out Thursday versus the Wizards. De’Andre Bembry (knee) is out indefinitely.
