Winnipeg arguably needs this game more, even though just 5 points separates the two teams. The Jets are still in it in the Central, just 6 points back from 2nd place Colorado.
Montreal has fallen to 6th in the Atlantic, with Boston, Toronto, and Tampa Bay looking set to pull away from the pack. Even with incentive, the Jets have struggled as of late however.

Montreal’s big win over the Jets two Mondays ago was impressive if only for the fact that it came smack dab in the middle of a 7-game road road swing. The win was expected though as the Canadiens were -110 favorites though.
That win in Manitoba was the last one the Canadiens have had the opportunity to enjoy. Claude Julien’s team has dropped 5 straight since then. That includes consecutive home defeats to Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh.
There’s good news and bad news about Carey Price in net for Montreal. The good is that he’s allowed 2 goals and also suffered an OTL in the last two games. The bad is that he gave up 11 scores in the two prior.

Is a total play the way to go here? The number is set through the roof at 6.5, but Connor Hellebuyck has had just as much trouble as Price, allowing 17 goals in his last 4.
All the recent goals allowed by these ‘tenders have come against good teams. Price has faced TB, FLA, TB, and PIT the last 4 and Hellebuyck STL, STL, COL, and TOR in 4 of his last 5. They’ll both get a break Monday night.
