Las Vegas has embraced the knights as their own and the expansion team has found a home in the high desert. However very few states love their hockey like Minnesota and St. Paul is rarely quite when the puck drops.

Vegas Golden Knights
Vegas is coming off a tough home loss against Carolina on Sunday. In a game where they held a 2 goal lead twice in the 3rd period the Knights lost to the ‘Canes 5-4 in OT as two costly penalties late in the 3rd left the door open for the comeback.
Despite the home loss Vegas has had a good stretch, especially considering their new coach, Peter DeBoer, started on a 7-game road trip with the team. The team has welcomed DeBoer and has split his first eight games 4-4.
Vegas is a very offense oriented team, they are currently 2nd in the league in shots per game as well as averaging 3.19 goals a game.
In net they alternate between the veteran Fluery and the younger brother of P.K Subban, Malcolm. Look for Fluery to get the start in this matchup against the Wild.
Minnesota Wild
The Wild are also coming off a tough loss against Colorado, but have had success since the break as that loss snapped a 3 game winning streak.
So far this year the Wild have underperformed to their potential. With the likes of Suter, Staal, Parise and Zuccarello the fact they they’re currently sitting 6th in the Central Division is certainly not going over well in St. Paul.
The immediate problem that needs to be addressed is goaltending, they are currently 25th in the league in goals against and 31st in PP/PK, those are not winning numbers. With the February 24th trade deadline looming players aren’t just looking for wins but to stick around.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Vegas are 4-8 SU in their last 12 games.
- Vegas are 2-5 SU in their last 7 games against Minnesota.
- Minnesota are 6-3 SU in their last 9 games.
- The total has gone UNDER in 9 of Minnesota’s last 11 games played in February.
- Minnesota are 4-1 SU in their last 5 games against an opponent in the West conference.

With all that being said I’m looking for the Wild to play with urgency in this game. The win streak they were on gave them confidence and in order to prevent another skid and regain traction towards a playoff race I expect this talented team to rally around each other and get back to winning ways in Minnesota.
Take the value and the home team in this Tuesday Night matchup.
