The NHL playoffs are officially underway. Lines are going live with the most up to date being at BOVADA & You can check out BODOG if you’re in Canada. NHL Props, series prices, and game by game NHL lines are posted.
The Vancouver offense had been playing well in eliminating defending Stanley Cup champion Florida but the Canucks ran into a buzzsaw in a 0-5 series opening loss to Vegas.
The Golden Knights look like they could make short work of this semifinals matchup after dominating on Sunday night. Vegas has just one loss since the NHL restart.
Vancouver Canucks
Vancouver had put up 4+ goals in four of six games vs. the Blues last round. It’s looking that production was more a product of Jordan Binnington’s struggles for St. Louis rather than strong offense from the Canucks.
There’s not a whole lot to build on from game one for Vancouver. They were outshot 26-39 and also forced just one penalty from the Golden Knights.
Canucks starting goaltender Jakob Markstrom was even benched for the last 8+ minutes in game one. He gave up five goals while facing 34 shots but will likely get the start on Tuesday.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Vegas offense has to be licking their chops at another chance to face Markstrom. The Vancouver goaltender has allowed at least 3 goals in five of the last six games.
Robin Lehner may not need much more than three goals of support when he minds the nets on Tuesday. Lehner stopped all 26 shots he faced in game one after allowing 3+ goals in two of the last three vs. Chicago.
The Golden Knights split two games vs. Vancouver during the regular season with both being high scoring, 3-6 and 5-4 back in mid-December. Game one went under the total of 5.5 as Vegas did all the scoring.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Canucks are 7-3 last 10 overall
- Golden Knights are 7-1 last 8 playoff games as a favorite
Free Vegas Golden Knights vs. Vancouver Canucks NHL Prediction:
Can the Canucks get anything off of Lehner in game two? Two goals from Vancouver should push this total well ‘over.’
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Over 5.5
Vegas got to five on their own in game one.
