They come into this game having lost two games in a row but before that they had won seven games in a row. This is a big game because they want to snap that losing streak as quickly as possible. Two games ago against the Lightning it was the defense that gave up nine goals and led to the blowout loss.
On the season the Cancucks defense has been inconsistent giving up 3.14 goals per game, and that is something that is going to need to be better in this game.
On the road they can’t let up a few goals or they could be in a lot of trouble in this game. It’s all going to be about getting the first goal.
Minnesota Wild
On the other side of this matchup is the Minnesota Wild who had climbed back into the playoff race a couple of weeks ago, but now they are struggling again.
Coming into this game they have lost two in a row and four of the last five. The biggest issue for the Wild have been the goal scoring. In three of their last four losses, they have only scored one goal. That isn’t going to be enough to get the job done in this one.
They are facing a defense that hasn’t been good as of late so it’s going to be important the offense gets out to a fast start.
