The Utah Mammoth continue their road trip Tuesday night against the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center.
Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM ET on Utah16 and MSGSN. Utah enters 2-1-0 under André Tourigny, while Sheldon Keefe’s Devils are 1-1-0.
Utah started fast. New Jersey just got flattened. Early October apparently skipped the small talk.
The Mammoth opened with wins over Chicago and Columbus before losing 4-2 to the Rangers on Sunday.
That defeat came on the second half of a back-to-back. New York broke open a 1-1 game with three third-period goals, including an empty-netter, to hand Utah its first loss.
New Jersey opened with a 3-2 overtime win over Philadelphia.
The Devils followed that by getting shut out by the Islanders, so returning home probably sounds pretty good right about now.

Here is my Mammoth Devils free pick: I’m taking Utah Mammoth ML +112. New Jersey gets home ice, but I don’t see enough separation between these clubs to make Utah the plus-money side.
The price is doing plenty of the work for me.
Utah has been dangerous in several different game states, and the Mammoth had Monday off after playing a weekend back-to-back. That’s important because I want their legs underneath them against a New Jersey team that should come out angry after getting embarrassed on Long Island.
The Devils should be motivated. Wonderful. Motivation doesn’t turn -132 into a bargain.
New Jersey can absolutely bounce back, but I’m not paying extra for the bounce-back theory.
Utah has enough speed and skill to make the Devils defend instead of spending all night attacking. If New Jersey starts pressing to erase Saturday from memory, the Mammoth have the transition game to make that expensive.
At +112, I’m getting paid to back the team I already like. Hell, I’ll take the extra money.
