This should be a very entertaining game to watch, both teams are going to the playoffs, and both of these teams have a high octane offence and we could be in for some goals tonight.
These two sides last played each other on January 5th with the Leafs grabbing a 4-2 win at home, can they get the same result on the road?
Toronto Maple Leafs
Toronto comes into this game on a nice 3 game winning streak, and winners of 5 of the last 6 games. Leafs most recent win came against a solid Seattle Kraken team. The leafs looked very impressive in Seattle and were the better team over 60 minutes.
Offense
The Maple Leafs have one of the leagues best offences in the league, they score the 6th most goals in the NHL with almost 3.5 goals per game. They have an elite power play which converts at 25.3 percent which is 4th best in the league. They also have impressive numbers in some of the lesser categories like a top 10 shooting percentage and top 5 in face off percentage.
Defense
On the defensive end the Maple Leafs are just as good, only conceding 2.6 goals per game which is 4th best in the league, they don’t allow teams to generate a lot of offence as they keep the shots to a minimum at only 28 shots against per game. In the main categories people look at defence wise, you could say the penalty kill might be the worst thing about them but its 10th best in the league still. Honestly a really well rounded team with not many holes.
Goaltending
Ilya Samsonov should get the call in net for the Leafs he has been standing this year going 22-7-2 with a very strong 2.30 goals against average and a top 10 .918 save percentage. He has been in net for all 3 of the Leafs 3 game winning streak.
Edmonton Oilers
Edmonton will be coming into Wednesday on a mini 2 game losing streak after dropping games to Columbus on the road and the Bruins on Monday at home. A big positive for the Oilers is that they went toe to toe with the leagues best team against the Bruins. Oilers got a dream start with a Connor McDavid goal 2:17 into the game but then gave that lead right back 13 seconds later and the Bruins grabbed another in the 1st. Pavel Zacha scored the game winner with 30 seconds left in the 2nd period.
Offense
The Oilers will bring in the leagues top scoring offence at 3.8 goals per game, they also are top 5 in shots per game at almost 34 per game. The Oilers also bring the leagues best power play at 32% and the 3rd best shooting percentage. Just an absoulety deadly offence but they will be tested against what is a very stingy Leafs defence.
Defense
Defensively Edmonton is not as strong, they give up a lot of goals at 3.3 per game, a big part of that is how many shots they give up, almost 32 per game which is in the bottom 15 of the league. The penalty kill doesn’t do much to help as they only kill off 75 percent of penalties, which is a major issue as they take a lot of penalties.
Goaltending
No listed started for the Oilers at the time of writing this but I would guess Jack Campbell will get the call, Stuart Skinner got the call vs Boston and played well, but Campbell has been the guy this year and I think we will see him vs the Leafs. Jack has gone 17-8-4 with a poor 3.48 goals against average and a poor .884 save percentage. He will need to be on his game against a elite offence like the Leafs.

Free Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Edmonton Oilers NHL Prediction
This is pick is probably the easy pick or the square pick but I think the Leafs are the better team in every way, Offensively, defensively and in net. Furthermore the Leafs have generally dominated this match up. Take Leafs moneyline at a very decent time.
