Saturday night will see the Tampa Bay Lightning heading to Canada to take on the Winnipeg Jets.
With both teams on the second night of a back-to-back, this is anybody’s game. The Jets are the healthier side and the home side so they’ll look to capitalize and win this game.
Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning continue to struggle to keep players on the ice. Injuries have affected Tampa Bay all season and will still affect the team on Saturday. There is good news though, as two previously injured players should be back in the lineup on Saturday.

Left wing Alex Killorn was held out of the last game due to an unspecified injury but will be back in the lineup against the Jets. The Lightning get back a 16 goal, 12 assist player in Killorn and he’s a very important part of the squad. Killorn has three goals and three assists over his last five games.
Ondrej Palat should be back in the lineup also after missing the previous two games with a lower-body injury. Palat has had a decent year with 10 goals and 15 assists. Over his last five games played, he has a goal and two assists.
With nearly a full strength team, minus the obvious Steven Stamkos, the Lightning have a shot to win this game but it won’t be easy against a team like the Jets.
Winnipeg Jets
When a team has three guys that can consistently get things done on the offensive end, that team can be dangerous on any given night. When those guys are Patrik Laine, Mark Schiefele, and Blake Wheeler, that team can be EXTREMELY dangerous.
Laine is an immensely talented rookie. He has 23 goals and 20 assists on the season, including two goals and three assists over his last five games.
Mark Schiefele continues to be the Jets’ best all-around player. He’s having a surprisingly stellar year, scoring 25 goals and 28 assists. He leads his team with 53 total points, including seven in his last five games (4G, 3A).

The captain Blake Wheeler has been a very important veteran for the Jets and has had some great offensive moments. Wheeler has a goal and five assists in his last five games, giving him 16 goals and 30 assists on the season.
Beating the Lightning won’t be an easy feat, but it’ll be the trio mentioned above that should spark the offense and give Winnipeg a chance.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Tampa Bay is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 games
- The Total has gone OVER in five of Winnipeg’s last five games
Free Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Winnipeg Jets NHL Hockey Prediction:
The Jets should be able to get the win against a Lightning team that hasn’t found any consistency on either side of the ice this season. Winnipeg gets the W at home.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Winnipeg ML
The Jets are a better team playing in a better division. Winnipeg will probably miss the playoffs but the team can still play good hockey, better than the Lightning can. I like the Winnipeg money line here.
