It’s a rare back-to-back bubble game as the Lightning and Bruins meet up Wednesday after the Tampa Bay evened up the series on Tuesday night.

The teams have battled to one score decisions in the first two, so expect another close one in game three. Boston was able to take the opener 3-2, but Tampa Bay bounced back for a 4-3 win in OT on Tuesday.
Tampa Bay Lightning
Tampa Bay was able to stave off a Boston comeback and even up the series 1-1. Game one was all Boston as they stormed out to a 3-0 lead before the Lightning eventually chipped away.
Even though the game went into OT, the Lightning looked much better in game two. TB outshot the Bruins 39-25 and could have ended things in regulation if not for a Brad Marchand goal with just over 4 minutes left.
Andrei Vasilevkiy has also looked more comfortable in net on Tuesday. The Lightning defense did a great job of limiting shots though, making sure their goaltender faced just 25 scoring attempts.
Boston Bruins
Boston had their chances, but ultimately fell in OT. One of the major positives the Bruins can take into game three is that Brad Marchand is absolutely on fire with 3 goals and an assist through the first two games.
What the Bruins do need is to get more shots off. Through two games Tampa Bay has a 76-56 advantage in SOG. In a series that is expected to go 6 or 7 games, you’re playing with fire in going for efficiency instead of volume.
Jaroslav Halak for the most part has done well fending off that barrage of shots. He was kind of thrust into the starting role with Tuukka Rask’s departure and has allowed six goals on a ton of attempts to the #1 offense in hockey.
