St. Louis, losers of the last two, head to Winnipeg to take on fellow Central Division opponent, the Jets.
Winnipeg snapped a three game losing streak by taking out the Arizona Coyotes, and the team will look to start a winning streak against the Blues.
St. Louis Blues
After giving up six goals to Ottawa and then seven to the Washington Capitals on Thursday night, the Blues will be looking for a much better defensive performance against the Jets.
The Blues have struggled on defense all season, giving up 142 goals in 46 games. That’s an average of 3.09 goals per game, one of the worst goals per game averages in the league.

The St. Louis offense has been pretty solid all year, but the defense will need to take some pressure off in order to beat the Jets. The Blues rank 12th in goals scored this year, with 131 on the season.
Right winger Vladimir Tarasenko has been the best offensive player for the Blues. He has 20 goals and 25 assists on the year, but hasn’t scored in his last five games. He does have two assists in that span, however.
To beat the Jets, the Blues will need some offensive production for Tarasenko and the defense will have to do better than giving up six or seven goals.
Winnipeg Jets
One of the more unfortunate pieces of recent hockey news was Patrik Laine going on injured reserve with a concussion. He has started skating with the team again but there is no timetable for his return and he certainly won’t be available Saturday night.
The Jets are simply a better team with Laine on the ice. He leads the team in goal-scoring with 21, and also has 16 assists. In his last five games before the concussion, he had two goals and five assists for Winnipeg. Laine has been an unbelievable rookie for the Jets.

With Laine out, more of the offensive production falls on center Mark Scheifele.
He’s had a great season, posting 20 goals and 23 assists. In his last five games, he has three goals and three assists.
Captain Blake Wheeler has played well, also. He has 14 goals and 23 assists. In his last five games, he has two goals and two assists.
NHL Betting Trends:
- The Total has gone OVER in four of Winnipeg’s last five games at home
- St. Louis is 2-6 ATS in the last eight games
Free St. Louis Blues vs. Winnipeg Jets NHL Hockey Prediction:
Despite a couple of bad losses, the Blues are still a solid team. Considering the Jets are playing without their best player right now, I like St. Louis to get the W on the road.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: St. Louis -115
Without Patrik Laine, the Jets simply aren’t the same team. St. Louis should be able to bounce back and get a win here. I like the St. Louis money line.
