The Blues vs Vegas meeting on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena is mismatch city. On one side you’ve got St. Louis whose 8 points are tied for the fewest in the NHL, while the 13-2-0 Golden Knights are the best team in the league through the first few weeks.
Vegas also returns home after a 5-0 road trip which pushed their overall win streak to 9 games. The Blues are coming off a victory too, beating San Jose 5-3 on Thursday to snap an 8-game skid.
For as lopsided of a game as this looks on paper, the -220 line favoring the Golden Knights isn’t too ridiculously high. They were -269 for example at the end of October against Anaheim and a whopping -366 earlier in the year vs. Chicago.
St. Louis Blues
Oddsmakers appear to think that St. Louis is a better team than their record indicates. Even on their recent 8-game losing streak the Blues were favorites four times. Their most devastating loss in that run was a 7-4 defeat to Montreal as -239 favorites.

The Golden Knights offense is really in the zone, upping their scoring to 5.5 goals/game over the last four. Jack Eichel has six goals in his last six games while St. Louis as a team has 10 in their last 5 – with 5 of them coming in one game.
One thing about the Golden Knights is that they score, but they also give up a lot of goals. Logan Thompson (Saturday’s likely starter) has surrendered 11 goals in his last three starts.
