The Western conference showdown starts on Wednesday night with five games. One of those match ups is between the Minnesota Wild and the St. Louis Blues.
This series has all kinds of story lines written all over it, but the biggest has to do with Blues head coach.
Mike Yeo is bringing the Blues to the playoffs to face off against the team that fired him last year, the Minnesota Wild.
St. Louis Blues
The St. Louis Blues seem to be getting themselves hot at the right time.
A few months ago people were already preparing for next year with the Blues, as most figured this team would be missing the playoffs, but then the Blues made a coaching change and this team seems to ave responded to Mike Yeo.

In the last ten games the Blues have won seven of them including the last three. They have been getting all kinds of offensive production as of late. In the last three games the Blues have scored 14 points.
To win this game they need to just try and get as many pucks on goal as they can. If they can rattle the Wild early they can take a 1-0 lead in this series.
Minnesota Wild
On the other side of this match up is the Minnesota Wild. Unlike the Blues they scuffled the last couple months of the season but they were still able to get four straight wins to close out the season.

The biggest question for the Wild is in net and his name is Devan Dubnyk. Will he play like the goalie that the Wild had for the first few months of the season, or will they have the one from the last couple months that couldn’t seem to stop much.
For the Wild to have success in this game he needs to play well early on. If he lets a goal in early it could be a long night.
